I thought it had dwindled a bit.....
But after attending this year's fan meeting in Seoul,
I guess I still love him hahaha
Honestly, I only planned to go to Japan and Singapore, but
to be frank, the most fun, based on 2024,
was still the very first fan meeting in "Taiwan."
Even now, I'm debating whether to go to Taiwan for a trip and another fan meeting.
For those of you, like me, planning a trip to Taipei,
I'm going to recommend an absolute must-have travel essential: Taiwan eSIM.

Taiwan Travel Essential: eSIM Recommendation
Beyond the era of roaming and physical SIM cards,
eSIM has now become an essential travel preparation.
Of course, depending on individual preferences,
many people still prefer roaming or physical SIM cards, but
since an eSIM can be installed immediately without having to swap out a physical chip,
ever since I tried using an eSIM just once,
I've been using eSIMs continuously.
These days, eSIMs have become so widespread that
there are many different vendors out there, but
I still use "USIMSA."

In some countries, real-name verification is a mandatory step,
and Taiwan is one of those countries.
Therefore, before using a Taipei eSIM,
Taiwan eSIM real-name verification is required.
It's not overly difficult, but without this verification,
you couldn't use the eSIM, which was a bit inconvenient.

Data Volume, Price & Discount Information
Of course, the sheer convenience of no longer needing real-name verification

How to Use & My Review
So, you've snagged your Taiwan eSIM at a great price with the discount applied?
Now it's time to get it installed!
As I mentioned before, since the "real-name verification" step has been removed,
you can install your eSIM just like you would for any other country,
without any extra preliminary steps.
Good news for Taiwan-bound travelers: you can actually install your eSIM even while you're still in your home country!
I always do this so that I can have internet access as soon as I land at the local airport.
Every time, before boarding my flight at Incheon Airport,
I make sure to complete the installation.
Just a heads-up: I'm an iPhone user,
so the installation guide below is based on iOS!
First, navigate to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data),
tap 'Add eSIM',
then use the QR code to install it.
You'll find the QR code in the voucher sent to you via email or KakaoTalk after purchase,
so just use that QR code, and you're good to go!
Once you scan the QR code, activation will begin.
Just wait a moment, and your cellular setup will be complete!
Now, here's a crucial part: configuring your lines.
First, a key point to remember:
Since we're installing this in our home country,
you'll want to set your Cellular Data line to your
existing line, "Primary".
Until you board your flight,
keep your Cellular Data line set to "Primary",
and make sure the newly added eSIM is switched OFF.
Once you arrive in Taipei, you can switch it ON.
You'll also need to change your Cellular Data
from your existing Primary line to your Travel line.
And don't forget to turn OFF 'Allow Data Switching' at the bottom!
(If this is ON, you could incur roaming charges!)
One more thing to double-check:
Ensure that Data Roaming for your Travel line is ON,
but that roaming for your existing Primary line is OFF.
If roaming is accidentally left ON for your Primary line,
this could also lead to unexpected roaming charges.
So please, double-check all these settings carefully!
Once your lines are configured as shown above,
your installation is complete and problem-free!
Now you're all set to enjoy your Taiwan eSIM to the fullest!
Looking back at my previous trip to Taipei,
even though it was two years ago, it was an absolute "Taiwan-tastic" experience!
Not only in the bustling heart of Taipei,
but even in places like Jiufen, where countless people gather,
the connection was consistently fast and reliable, without any slowdowns or disconnections.
Thanks to this, I could use map and taxi apps in real-time,
making my trip incredibly fulfilling beyond just the fan meeting.
As I mentioned a few times in previous reviews, the only place where connectivity totally died was
the indoor stadium where the fan meeting was held.
And it wasn't just me using an eSIM; everyone experienced issues, whether they were roaming or using a physical SIM.
So, since it was a problem everyone faced,
there's no need to doubt the quality of the SIM provider.
Since I've already booked trips to two other countries,
I'm still debating whether to go to Taiwan for the fan meeting.
Honestly, it's been a while since I last traveled to Taiwan,
so going for a trip after such a long time wouldn't be a bad idea...
(...or so I tell myself, haha!)
