Xing Fu Tang Taipei Review 2026: Ximending Bubble Tea
Craving the best bubble tea in Taipei? Dive into Xing Fu Tang in Ximending, famous for its freshly made brown sugar boba. Get location, menu, and payment tips for your 2026 visit!

When you visit Taiwan, embracing the 'one bubble tea a day' philosophy is practically a rite of passage. It's an absolute must-do!
Among the many fantastic eateries in Taipei's bustling Ximending district, Xing Fu Tang stands out with arguably the longest lines and the most buzz. I'm excited to share my review of this famous Taiwanese bubble tea spot!
I'll cover everything you need to know: Xing Fu Tang's location, operating hours, menu, and whether they accept cash or card payments.
Plus, I'll throw in a few other Ximending restaurant recommendations from my own trip.
1. Xing Fu Tang Ximending Location & Hours

📌 Xing Fu Tang Taipei Location:
Just a 3-minute walk from Ximending Station Exit 6.
📌 Operating Hours:
8:30 AM to 12:30 AM

Strategically located in the heart of Ximending, you don't need to make a special trip just for Xing Fu Tang. It's perfectly situated so you can grab a delicious bubble tea while exploring other nearby restaurants and attractions.
When I visited, there was always a long line, but don't let that deter you! Even with a seemingly endless queue, it moves surprisingly fast, usually taking only about 10 minutes to get your order.
Pro tip: The mornings tend to be much less crowded than the afternoons, so plan accordingly if you prefer a shorter wait!
2. Xing Fu Tang Taipei Menu & Payment

📌 Xing Fu Tang Taipei Menu & Prices
Brown Sugar Boba Milk: 120 New Taiwan Dollars (TWD)
Xiao Long Bao: 120 TWD
Brown Sugar Boba Xiao Long Bao: 120 TWD
Interestingly, they also offer Xiao Long Bao, including a unique version infused with brown sugar boba! It's quite unusual for a bubble tea shop, but I saw many people trying it out.

Good news for travelers: Xing Fu Tang accepts card payments, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay!
Many places in Taipei still operate on a cash-only basis, so I had exchanged a good amount of cash before my trip. It's definitely convenient that Xing Fu Tang offers multiple payment options.

After purchasing your drink, you might receive a Xing Fu Tang sticker. While it might not seem super practical, it makes for a fun little souvenir!
One of the highlights of visiting Xing Fu Tang in Taipei is watching the bubble tea being made right before your eyes. They are renowned for using freshly made tapioca pearls, prepared in-house. This commitment to quality is undoubtedly why the place is always bustling with customers.

They also have stacks of free fans available for the taking. Again, not essential, but a cool little memento to remember your visit! 👍🏻

You can even try your luck with their fortune/proverb draw on the side.
My fortune read: "The secret to happiness is enjoying life's small pleasures." = The joy of drinking bubble tea! 😊
3. My Xing Fu Tang Experience & Review

Most customers order the signature brown sugar bubble tea, so you simply pick up your freshly made drink in the order you placed it.
(Just show your receipt and wait for your turn.)
They generously scoop warm tapioca pearls into a cup, add ice, pour in fresh milk, and then top it off with brown sugar, which they torch to perfection.

That dragon-headed torch creates a lightly caramelized crust on top of the brown sugar, adding a delightful, slightly chewy texture that makes it even more delicious.

Since it takes a little while from ordering to receiving your drink, I highly recommend watching the fascinating process of them preparing the drinks!
The open kitchen setup allows you to peek inside and observe how quickly and skillfully they prepare each cup – it's quite entertaining.

Once you have your bubble milk tea, you can either mix it completely right away or take a few sips before stirring.
If you drink it immediately without mixing, the tapioca pearls at the bottom will be warm, while the milk on top will be cold, creating an interesting temperature contrast.
However, if you stir it too vigorously from the start, the torched brown sugar crust will dissolve completely, and you'll miss out on that delightful crunchy texture. Personally, I found it most enjoyable to drink a little first and then mix it gently.

The milk itself is just plain, unsweetened milk, so it might not be a super mind-blowing flavor on its own. I did think it would be even better if they used a slightly richer or more flavorful milk.
Nevertheless, the tapioca pearls are incredibly soft and chewy, making this a must-try for any bubble tea enthusiast. I loved it so much that I had it twice during my trip!

📌 My Recommended Ximending Eateries:
Taiwan Xiao Long Bao
Fuhong Beef Noodles
Tian Tian Li Mei Shi Fang (天天利美食坊)
Yong He Dou Jiang
San Xiong Di Bing Shu (personally, I wasn't a fan; I recommend Ximen Mango Shaved Ice instead)
Taiwan Xiao Long Bao – their dumplings are truly delicious! It's a spot focused solely on dumplings, and I even found it tastier than Din Tai Fung.
Fuhong Beef Noodles also had very little of that strong spice aroma, so I really enjoyed it. 👍🏻
