When exploring Ximending in Taipei,
are you looking for a great spot for breakfast?
While indulging in authentic local Taiwanese cuisine is wonderful,
sometimes you just crave something simple and clean,
perhaps even a familiar meal, for a change.
Today, I'll introduce Louisa Coffee, a perfect spot for a quick breakfast in Ximending, Taipei!
(Just so you know, it's also the breakfast restaurant for the Orange Hotel where I stayed.)

Louisa Coffee is a well-known cafe chain,
with numerous branches spread across Taipei city.
The particular branch I visited is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Ximending Exit 4.

This particular Louisa Coffee branch
also served as the breakfast spot for the Orange Hotel, where I was staying.
If you're curious about my stay at the Orange Hotel,
feel free to check out the post below!

The Louisa Coffee branch I visited wasn't particularly spacious inside.
It seemed to be a popular spot favored more by locals than tourists,
and it was surprisingly bustling with customers!

Behind the counter, you'll find complimentary water,
along with coffee beans, drip bags, tumblers, and cups for sale.

There were over 10 tables, both large and small,
and a single large table at the back. It was the only empty spot,
so that's where I settled down.

📍 Louisa Coffee Menu (Partial)
Sandwiches
Ham/Veggie/Tuna 55 TWD
Smoked Chicken / Italian Pork 65 TWD
Egg Burgers
Cheese 55 TWD
Ham & Cheese + Peanut Butter 60 TWD
Bacon & Cheese + Peanut Butter 65 TWD
Omelets
Cheese 60 TWD
Bacon/Tuna/Veggie 70 TWD

Beyond that, they had quite a variety of desserts too,
including cakes, breads, cookies, and pound cakes.
We opted for the sandwiches (smoked chicken and a meat toast)
that we could enjoy with our breakfast coupon!

The sandwich set arrived quickly after we ordered!
The iced Americano wasn't anything groundbreaking,
but it was a perfectly decent coffee to enjoy.

Next, we dove into the sandwiches!
📍 First up was the Beyond Meat Toast,
a toast featuring a savory meat patty.

It had lettuce, cucumber, tomato, a patty, and mustard sauce.
We found the amount of vegetables a little sparse for its size,
which was a minor letdown, but it was still perfectly good for a light bite.
A quick note: the patty carried a distinctive Taiwanese spice aroma.
And while its appearance might remind you of those nostalgic, slightly-naughty childhood snacks,
it actually tasted much better than it looked!

📍 Next up was the Smoked Chicken French Toast,
a delicious toast featuring chicken.

It had more vegetables than the previous meat patty toast, making
the smoked chicken toast more to my liking.
Plus, with no strong spice aroma, I think this sandwich
would appeal to a wider range of tastes.
Overall, while these toasts are a decent portion for breakfast,
you might find them a bit light if you're looking for a lunch-sized meal.

Luisa Coffee, which doubles as the Orange Hotel's breakfast spot and offers
a range of toasts, burgers, and more, is definitely a cafe worth checking out for a simple yet delicious morning meal.
Especially if you find Taiwanese dishes with strong spices
aren't quite to your taste, you'll be perfectly happy filling up
with a simple sandwich here for breakfast.
The iced Americano also goes down smoothly,
making it a great way to kickstart your morning with a refreshing boost!
So, enjoy a hearty breakfast
and have a fantastic journey!
