Dive into day two of your Taipei journey! Indulge in Michelin-starred Taiwanese cuisine, explore the vibrant Yongkang Street, and grab unique souvenirs at Carrefour.
Taipei 3-Day Itinerary
After an incredibly packed first day (we even squeezed in a Yehliu-Shifen-Jiufen tour upon arrival!), we planned a more relaxed itinerary for our second day of independent travel in Taipei.

Taipei 3-Day Itinerary: Must-Try Eateries
Taiwan is a true foodie paradise, and our gastronomic tour wouldn't be complete without diving into everything from delicate dim sum and savory braised pork rice to delectable street food.

First thing after waking up, we called an Uber and headed straight to Wang's Broth.
This Michelin-recognized eatery is famous for its braised pork rice
and is located within the Huaxi Street Night Market.
(Hands down, this was the most delicious meal of our entire Taipei 3-day itinerary! I've tried similar dishes back home, but nothing compares to Wang's Broth.)
We'd heard it's a local favorite with queues, so we were prepared to wait, but luckily, we got in right away.
(By around 11:30 AM, though, a crowd started forming, and there was a wait.)

How to Order
When you enter, you'll be given a menu. Once you've decided, take your checked menu to the staff member at the entrance. Payment is upfront!

Braised Pork Rice = Kong Rou Fan
Minced Pork Rice = Lu Rou Fan
These two dishes are the most famous, but braised tofu, added cabbage, and sweet potato leaves are also popular choices.

Tip
Spoons and spicy sauce are available near the entrance – make sure to grab them!
We ordered the Kong Rou Fan, Lu Rou Fan, braised tofu, and a Coke.
The absolute standout was, of course, the Kong Rou Fan (Braised Pork Rice).
The sweet and savory sauce combined with the tender pork is simply irresistible. Paired with the spicy sauce, you'll finish it in no time!
(Some even bring kimchi or pickled radishes from convenience stores to enjoy with it.)

The Lu Rou Fan was also tasty, but a bit on the oily side for my preference, making the Kong Rou Fan my favorite. The braised tofu, unfortunately, didn't absorb as much flavor as I'd hoped. Portions are on the smaller side, so for two people, ordering about three dishes is perfect.
📍 Yuan Fang Guabao

Right next door is another Michelin Bib Gourmand gem, Yuan Fang Guabao. This 'braised pork belly burger' features tender braised pork, cilantro, sugar, and peanuts nestled in a warm steamed bun – a truly unique and incredibly flavorful experience! It was so good, even after taking it back to our hotel, it was still delicious.
Din Tai Fung

After a relaxing break at our hotel, we headed to Din Tai Fung for dinner. This renowned spot has been recognized by The New York Times as one of the world's top ten restaurants. Since we planned to explore Yongkang Street afterward, we visited their Xinyi branch, which is conveniently located nearby.

Din Tai Fung Reservation Guide & Review
Yongkang Street

Yongkang Street is a charming area bustling with unique boutique shops and famous nougat cracker spots. Its proximity to Din Tai Fung's Xinyi branch made it a perfect post-dinner stroll.
We sampled Yongkang Street's iconic street foods, like Tianjin Scallion Pancakes and refreshing mango shaved ice, and before we knew it, hours had flown by browsing the charming shops.
We weren't planning on buying nougat crackers, so we visited in the evening. But if you are, definitely plan for an early morning 'open run' to beat the crowds!

Tax Refund Guide
To qualify for a tax refund, you need to spend over 8,000 TWD (approximately ~$250). Head to the tax refund counter on the 6th floor with your passport and receipts.
They don't process the refund on the spot; instead, they'll issue you the necessary refund documents, and you'll collect your refund at the airport.
From incredible food tours to satisfying shopping, our action-packed Day 2 of the Taipei 3-day itinerary came to a fantastic close!
