My babymoon trip to Taiwan while pregnant 🩵

For 6 nights and 7 days, I explored Taipei and its surroundings,

making sure to pack in plenty of activities.

We traveled using public transportation,

and from delicious eateries to night markets, hot springs, and even trips to nearby areas,

it was a well-paced journey without being too rushed! I'll share my travel review with you all.

1. Taiwan Travel

Taiwan, with its comfortable 2-hour flight, is an easy getaway,

and with excellent public transportation,

we decided to embark on a week-long babymoon to Taipei :)

(I visited when I was 20 weeks pregnant)

Since this Taiwan trip was a journey taken during pregnancy,

I was more meticulous than usual about researching transportation methods

and accommodation locations.

What was most important to us was

to enjoy both sightseeing and delicious food without overdoing it!

Taipei's MRT system is incredibly well-developed,

and it's easy to get to major attractions by public transport,

making it perfect for exploring without a rental car.

Beyond downtown Taipei, we also did the Yehliu-Shifen-Jiufen (YesJi) bus tour,

visited Beitou, Tamsui, and Keelung,

making our 6-night, 7-day trip truly fulfilling and packed with memories.

2. Essential Transportation Items

The most useful item we used for getting around Taipei was

the EasyCard.

You can use it for the MRT, buses, and more, so you don't have to buy a ticket every time,

and it's super convenient to top up the balance when it runs low.

We topped it up with 200 at various points during our trip.

We could use the EasyCard not only for the airport express but also for TRA trains when taking a day trip to Keelung,

so traveling was very convenient!

If you're planning your first trip to Taiwan, I highly recommend buying your EasyCard

in advance.

3. Taiwan Babymoon Hotel Recommendations

I have two specific accommodation recommendations for you!

We booked hotels near Ximen Station and Taipei Main Station respectively,

and both locations were incredibly convenient for public transportation.

Approx. ~$138 per night

Our first hotel for our Taiwan babymoon trip was

Sotetsu Grand Fresa near Ximen Station.

Its proximity to Ximending made it perfect for enjoying nearby restaurants and shopping,

and it was also convenient to return to the accommodation after visiting the night market in the evening.

Being relatively new, the room condition was clean, the view was great,

and the bathroom water was purified, so there was no need for a shower filter.

Highly recommend this place for accommodation near Ximen Station!

Our second Taipei hotel was Caesar Park Hotel.

It's right in front of Taipei Main Station, making it convenient not only for the MRT

but also for traveling to nearby areas.

While it's a bit older, its location at Taipei Main Station makes it

the top choice for airport transfers!

Personally, for the middle of the trip, Ximen Station is great,

but for the first or last day when you're traveling from the airport,

staying at Taipei Main Station was definitely more convenient for our itinerary :)

5. Must-Try Restaurants

We also visited so many amazing restaurants – you can't miss these on your trip!

At Kiki Restaurant, we tried the stir-fried chive blossoms and cream shrimp,

and at Jinchenmei, we had the stir-fried chive blossoms and fried egg tofu.

Personally, Kiki wins!

And of course, when you think of Taiwan, you can't forget Din Tai Fung!

Shrimp and pork bibim mandu, Xiaolongbao,

cucumber salad, and even shrimp and egg fried rice – it was worth the wait!

If you love beef noodles, check out Master Jim,

and in Beitou, I highly recommend Oga Beef Noodles too!

Of course, we didn't miss out on the night market treats either.

At Raohe Street Night Market, we tried butter pineapple buns and pepper buns

At Ningxia Night Market, we had fried squid, chicken rice,

giant grilled squid, chicken skewers, and sweet potato balls, among other things.

There are quite a few markets,

so try visiting different ones each night for some delicious late-night snacks!

Taiwan Trip Expenses Summary

For our 6-night, 7-day Taiwan trip, including flights and accommodation,

we spent approximately ~\$2,208 for two people.

✈️ Flights: ~\$897

🚇 Transport, Tours & Tickets: ~\$138

🍴 Food: ~\$345

As this was our first babymoon to Taiwan while pregnant,

we made sure to prioritize not overdoing it.

Taiwan has excellent public transportation,

and many great restaurants and tourist spots are conveniently located close together,

making our trip much more comfortable than we expected.

Splitting our accommodation between Ximen Station and Taipei Main Station,

allowed us to easily explore both the city center and nearby excursions.

Even though we visited quite a few places over 6 nights and 7 days,

we made sure to take breaks at delicious restaurants and cafes along the way,

and stayed in great condition throughout! :)🩵
