Hello everyone!
Today, we're kicking off our Taiwan adventure! I'm excited to share my review of taking a taxi from Taiwan Taoyuan Airport all the way to the heart of the city.
I've visited Taipei, Taiwan three times now. My first trip was a solo adventure, the second was a duo trip with a friend, and this third time, I explored with my family! This most recent experience using a taxi from Taoyuan Airport to the city center was so incredibly smooth and satisfying, I just had to share all the details with you!
If you're wondering where to go after landing at Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, don't worry! This is a super popular tourist destination, so if you're ever unsure, just ask someone or simply follow the flow of people – you'll get the hang of it quickly! Haha. 😉

I highly, highly recommend registering for e-gate! The immigration queue for departure was incredibly short – such a time-saver!

Seamless Taxi Pick-up Service from Taoyuan Airport to the City!
This was a family trip with four of us, and as the designated guide, things got pretty chaotic – even though it was my third visit and I felt confident! That's precisely why opting for a taxi from Taoyuan Airport to the city was hands down one of the best decisions we made!
I booked our Taoyuan Airport to city taxi pick-up service through Kkday, and it was wonderfully seamless! As soon as we exited the gate, there was someone waiting directly in front of us with a sign for our private taxi pick-up. They quickly confirmed my name, reservation details, and booking number before calling our driver over. We double-checked the taxi number and our destination one last time, then loaded up our bags.

Having all our luggage loaded for us was incredibly convenient! I wasn't just traveling with my immediate family, but with both of our mothers and my husband, so I was definitely worried about handling all our bags during transit. But this smooth transfer made our journey so, so much easier and stress-free!

From the moment we landed at the airport until we reached the city, I was absolutely swamped! The reason even I, an ESTJ obsessed with planning and efficiency, was so overwhelmed was... there was a snag with the traveler verification for the SIM card I'd bought back in Korea. If we had been relying on public transport to get to the city, I would have been completely stressed out, juggling the SIM card issue AND trying to figure out our stop. But with the taxi taking us right to our accommodation's doorstep, I didn't have to worry about anything else and could just focus on getting that SIM card sorted. What a lifesaver! 😆🫶
Thankfully, the customer service from the SIM card company was super helpful via KakaoTalk, and I managed to completely resolve the SIM card and traveler verification issue while we were still in the taxi. My family enjoyed soaking in the Taiwanese scenery outside the window, while I tackled the tech problem, and we arrived right at our accommodation's doorstep. They even kindly helped us unload all our bags!

Once we got up to our accommodation and unpacked, I finally felt like I could breathe! We successfully wrapped up our amazing 3-night, 4-day family adventure in Taipei, Taiwan. We even snapped some fun pictures together at the famous rainbow crosswalk!

We also enthusiastically released sky lanterns in Shifen. My husband wrote "10,000 daily visitors for my blog's massive success" as a wish for financial luck... and it's true, that month we actually surpassed 10,000 and even set a new record! 🫶✨

Taoyuan Airport Drop-off Service
Since I was so satisfied with the taxi pick-up service from Taoyuan Airport to the city, I immediately booked the drop-off service that very night. One difference from the pick-up service is that I had to submit the car's arrival time when booking. China Airlines gates open 2 hours and 30 minutes before departure, so I requested pick-up about 3 hours before my flight's departure time. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Taoyuan Airport to the city.

The car arrived exactly at my booked time, and again, they loaded all our luggage for us. Shopping is a huge part of travel in Taiwan, isn't it?! By the time we were leaving, our luggage had doubled in size! 😆😆😆 Using a taxi was so incredibly convenient because we didn't have to carry or load any of our suitcases ourselves. Plus, it rains a lot in Taipei (which is why many buildings look a bit drab), and it was raining on the day of our return flight, so I was really glad I had booked the taxi! Haha.

And another thing! I really felt that booking a taxi was a brilliant decision because Taiwan is a city travel destination, so there's quite a bit of walking involved. As a result, my mom's knees started feeling a bit sore from the third day. I was so relieved that we had booked a taxi and minimized our walking! For 4 people, considering luggage, you should book a 9-seater vehicle, and it was great to have plenty of space.

When we arrived at the airport, the China Airlines gate was already open, and we smoothly completed our trip all the way back home. 😊😆

The Taoyuan Airport to city taxi service I used was the most affordable on KKday, and it also had great reviews. I'd definitely be willing to use it again if I visit Taiwan! I booked it for about ~$36 per ride, and since 4 of us used it, it worked out to about ~$9 per person, which I think was excellent value for money.

The service I used is a popular one with over 30,000 reviews! When I look at products like this, I always check the reviews, and since they were all positive, I felt confident booking it!

I hope this helps you prepare for your trip to Taiwan! Thanks for reading! 🫶
