Taipei 101 Observatory Tickets 2026: Family Visit & Perks
Take your family to new heights at Taipei 101! We're sharing our tips for visiting the iconic observatory with young kids, including ticket deals, freebies, and navigating Taiwan's tallest skyscraper.
Hey there, fellow travelers!
Following up on our last post, here's another chapter from our 3-day, 4-night Taiwan adventure.
Today, I'm excited to share our experience visiting the Taipei 101 Observatory with our two little ones, aged 2.5 and 4.5 years old.
📍 Taipei 101 Observatory

📍 Taipei 101 Shopping center

We purchased our tickets after arriving in Taiwan, timing it perfectly with our itinerary. We decided the 89th-floor observatory was plenty for us, so we opted for a fantastic package that included 89th-floor admission, delicious egg rolls, and a visitor card.

Our tickets came with an entry QR code, which made things incredibly smooth! We could head straight to the elevators on the 5th floor without needing any separate ticket exchange.
*Heads up: As of July 1, 2026, the ticket exchange booth has been moved to the 1st floor!

Taipei 101 Observatory's free entry policy isn't based on age, but rather on height! This was great news for us, as both our kids qualified for free admission.
Free entry for international tourists: Children under 45 inches (115 cm) are admitted free with one accompanying adult.

Ultra-Fast Elevator & 89th Floor Observatory
Our 2.5 and 4.5-year-olds' eyes widened the moment we stepped into the ultra-fast elevator! The dazzling constellation-themed lighting on the ceiling kept them entertained and fearless during the ascent.

Reaching the 89th floor, we were greeted by a breathtaking panoramic view of Taipei's cityscape. Both adults and children were absolutely mesmerized!

The observatory is dotted with adorable characters and vibrant photo zones, making it perfect for capturing some sweet memories with the kids.

After soaking in the views, we headed down to the Bluebird store on Basement 1 (B1) to collect our 2-piece box of egg rolls by showing our reservation QR code. These crispy, savory treats were a huge hit with both our 4.5-year-old and 2.5-year-old! They were the perfect snack for when the kids started getting a little hungry. :)

Don't forget to leverage your visitor card for special discounts at shops within the mall! It's a great way to save a little extra when you explore the underground food court or do some shopping after your observatory visit.

Honest Review & Tips
1. Bring your stroller! We even brought our ride-on carrier for our older child, and it was allowed all the way up to the observatory. *Other luggage can be stored at the 5th-floor entrance to the boarding area.
2. If you have a mobile QR code or e-ticket, you can proceed directly to the 5th-floor boarding area to take the elevator. *Physical tickets can also be collected at a booth on the 89th-floor observatory itself!
3. A word of caution about the ice cream on the 5th floor: it melted incredibly fast! Both our kids ended up spilling about two-thirds of theirs, which was a bit of a shame. Haha.
