Taipei 101 Hotpot: Ma La All-You-Can-Eat Xinyi Review (2026)
Discover an incredible all-you-can-eat Mala Hotpot restaurant, Ma La Xinyi, just steps from Taipei 101. Enjoy unlimited delicious food, drinks, and Haagen-Dazs!

On my **Taipei trip**, I really wanted to spend at least one day
savoring some authentic **hotpot**.
While searching for a great restaurant near the Taipei 101 Observatory,
I stumbled upon an **all-you-can-eat Taiwanese hotpot spot!**

Its location was perfect, just about a **6-minute walk from the observatory**.
I made a reservation online and went with my friends.
Beyond just hotpot, this amazing restaurant offered an unlimited supply of drinks, desserts, and even more treats –
including Häagen-Dazs ice cream!
Talk about a fantastic find! 😝
Seriously, who can resist the combination of beer and mala hotpot?
1. Our Hotpot Gem Near Taipei 101 Observatory

We visited on August 23, 2025,
with a **reservation for 8 PM on a Saturday evening**.
We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation,
but we weren't seated immediately.
We waited in the chairs outside the restaurant,
and were finally **seated exactly at 8 PM**.
Since it tends to get quite busy on weekend evenings,
I personally recommend **making a reservation in advance**
rather than just walking in.

2. Pricing: NT$798 per Person (Around ~$22 USD Equivalent)

We opted for the standard all-you-can-eat dinner course.
The price was **NT$798 per person**,
with an additional 10% service charge.
For three people, the **total came to NT$2,634**.

While there were premium courses available, the standard course offered plenty,
including Black Angus specialty meats, seafood, meatballs,
fresh vegetables, desserts, beverages, and even alcohol.
It was more than enough for us!
Dining time is 120 minutes.
The last order for additional items
is taken 30 minutes before your dining session ends.
3. Choose 2 Broth Bases from 7 Options

We could choose two broth bases from a total of seven options.
We went with the **Spicy Mala Shabu** and the **Vegetable Wellbeing Shabu**.
Between the two, the Mala broth was definitely our favorite!

The spice wasn't overly intense, and it certainly didn't numb our tongues.
If you're someone who enjoys Malatang or Malaxiangguo in Korea,
you'll find this flavor profile quite approachable.
Instead of a super rich and numbing mala,
it was more like a **pleasantly mild mala hotpot broth** that's easy to enjoy.
4. Order Meats via QR Code, Others Self-Serve

As you step inside, you'll be handed a paper with a QR code.
Simply scan it with your phone, and you can order your meat!
The ordering screen conveniently displayed Korean,
so even if you don't speak Chinese, ordering was a breeze!

You order your meats right from your table using that QR code,
but for all the delicious vegetables, seafood, fish/meatballs, noodles, sauces, and more,
you can help yourself at the self-service bar.

The restaurant itself is quite spacious,
and the seating felt comfortably spaced, never cramped.
The self-service bar was also consistently well-maintained,
so even during busy times, the ingredients never looked messy or
ran out.
5. Our Top Ingredient Picks for Mala Hotpot!

When it came to the meats, the ones with just the right amount of marbling —
the U.S. beef chuck and brisket — truly stood out as the best.
Everything else was good, but these were exceptional!

As for seafood, the shrimp were wonderfully fresh,
and the squid and clams were great too.
However, personally, I probably wouldn't go for the fish again.

My absolute top recommendation here? The lobster balls!
There was a fantastic variety of fish/meatballs to choose from,
and once again, Taiwanese hotpot proves its charm with the joy of picking out your favorite balls!

The lobster balls had a wonderfully bouncy texture, and inside, a delightful cream cheese filling,
along with a rich umami flavor that made them surprisingly incredible!
My friend must have eaten at least 10 of them...

The tofu was solid, and we loaded up on vegetables like cabbage, bok choy, and various mushrooms.
It was interesting to see many local tables adding corn to their hotpot,
which was a fun little discovery!

For noodles, I highly recommend the knife-cut noodles.
They were perfect for a satisfying finish, cooked right in the broth,
and from what I observed, the typical glass noodles you find in Korean hotpot spots
weren't readily available here.
There was also a wide selection of offal, like small intestines, large intestines, and congealed blood,
but we decided to skip them this time around! 😉
6. Unlimited Refills on Desserts and Drinks (Even Alcohol!)

One of the great advantages of Mala Hotpot Xinyi branch is
the impressive variety of desserts and drinks available.

**Fruits** like watermelon, pineapple, cherry tomatoes, and guava
are kept fresh and neatly displayed.

You can also freely enjoy a wide variety of
**juices, sodas, coffee, and tea.**

And for **ice cream**, they boast an **incredible**
**8 flavors of Häagen-Dazs and 4 flavors of Mövenpick**...!
After enjoying the hotpot and then having Häagen-Dazs, my satisfaction shot right up. Seriously, what a treat!

**Alcoholic beverages were also all-you-can-drink.**
There was a wide selection of beers,
and various spirits like whiskey, vodka, gin, and rum
were also available.

For those who enjoy alcoholic drinks,
the 798 NTD price probably feels even more appealing.
I recommend sticking to beer for alcohol; the others were just so-so.
7. Definitely Would Revisit Mala Hotpot Taipei

**Mala Hotpot Xinyi, the all-you-can-eat hotpot spot in Taipei,**
didn't seem to be a place flooded solely with tourists;
there appeared to be many local patrons.
When we visited,
we hardly saw any Koreans.
There's also a Korean menu available, so it's not difficult
for Korean travelers to enjoy.
The staff were friendly and responsive,
and there was rarely a situation where I needed to use Chinese.

Personally, **even choosing just the basic course for 798 NTD (around ~$22)**,
there was more than enough to eat.
What I loved most was that it included not only meat and seafood, but also meatballs, desserts,
Häagen-Dazs ice cream, and even alcoholic beverages.

**Especially if you're looking for a great dinner spot near the Taipei 101 Observatory,**
the location is perfect for walking, making the itinerary smooth.
