Nestled conveniently near the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip, close to the SAHARA Las Vegas, Tacos El Gordo is an authentic Mexican taqueria run by native Mexicans, bringing genuine flavors straight from south of the border.

It's a beloved spot for both tourists and locals alike, so expect a line – but don't let that deter you! The service is incredibly efficient, meaning you usually won't wait long to dig into your delicious meal. Open from morning until the wee hours of the night, it's perfect for any schedule, whether you're grabbing a late lunch, a dinner, or a post-casino snack.

You can also purchase drinks at the cash register.

• Don't forget to grab the complimentary grilled vegetables – they're a delicious addition!

• Tacos typically come with cilantro. If you prefer yours without, simply say “No cilantro, please” when ordering.

Our Review

Our group of three decided to share a variety of tacos and drinks:

Adobada (Pork) $4.12 x 3

Asada (Steak) $4.12 x 3

Coke $3.31 x 2 / Sprite $3.31 x 1

Each taco comes generously loaded with succulent meat, perfectly complemented by fresh onions, vibrant salsa, and creamy guacamole, creating an explosion of authentic flavor.

While the line might seem daunting at first, trust me, once you take that first bite, you'll realize it was absolutely worth the wait! If you're with a group, I highly recommend ordering a mix of different meats to share. It's the best way to experience the full range of flavors.

Both the Adobada and Asada are universally delicious and crowd-pleasers. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the Asada – it's simply incredible!

On one side of the restaurant, you'll find a self-service station where you can grab extra limes and onions to customize your tacos.

And for convenience, there's even a sink available to wash your hands after your meal.
