Looking for a chill pool experience in Las Vegas? Our 2026 Park MGM pool review covers everything from free sunbeds and pool bar service to cabana tips.
Quick answer
- Park MGM pools are open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Standard sunbeds are free; paid cabana reservations are available.
- Two pool bars offer drinks with poolside service to sunbeds.
- Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the pool area.
- The Park MGM pool offers a relaxed atmosphere, not a loud party.

Last time, I shared my review of the Park MGM guest rooms.
This time, I'm bringing you my review of the Park MGM pool, which I got to experience firsthand.
When you think of Las Vegas hotels, it's easy to picture glamorous pool parties, but the Park MGM pool offered a wonderfully distinct vibe.
I spent my time leisurely, lounging on a sunbed, sipping on a beer, and taking a dip in the pool.
But the big question is: can you truly enjoy it without booking a paid cabana?
I'll cover everything from the pool's location and operating hours to the free sunbeds and my experience at the pool bar.
Park MGM Pool: Location & Operating Hours
First, let's dive into the essential details.

The Park MGM pool is conveniently connected directly from the hotel lobby level.
Simply follow the 'Pool Entrance' signs near Primrose Restaurant and Guest Services.
At the entrance, you'll find plenty of towels stacked, so feel free to grab as many as you need.
It's super convenient that you don't need to bring towels down from your room. Just a heads-up, though: outside food and drinks are not permitted.
There are also shower facilities available for a quick rinse after your swim.
However, for a proper shower and changing, heading back to your room might be more comfortable.
Park MGM: Three Pools, Three Vibes?

Park MGM officially boasts three distinct swimming pools.
There's the North Pool, South Pool,
and the exclusive adults-only East Pool.
During my visit, I primarily enjoyed two of the larger pools and a soothing hot tub.
The Lively Pool: Perfect for Families

One of the pools had a lifeguard on duty and was bustling with families and children.
Overall, it had a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for kids to splash around and have fun.
The Serene Pool: A Relaxing Oasis for Adults

In contrast, the other pool offered a much more serene and relaxed atmosphere.
During my visit, this area was primarily enjoyed by adults, and there wasn't a lifeguard visibly present.
While music was playing,
it wasn't the kind of loud, boisterous pool party vibe.
People in the pool were also
enjoying their time in a relaxed way.
Personally, I preferred this atmosphere.
Free Sunbeds vs. Paid Cabanas

The most satisfying part
of using the pool?
Definitely the free sunbeds!

I visited in the morning,
and there were quite a few empty spots.
I could choose any spot I wanted,
and it felt relaxed with not too many people around.
However, as the afternoon goes on, the number of visitors increases,
so good spots might become scarce.
That's why I personally
recommend visiting in the morning.
Is a Cabana Reservation Really Necessary at the Pool?
To get straight to the point,
I was able to fully enjoy the pool
without making a reservation.

I just relaxed on a free sunbed,
swam, and even enjoyed a beer.
However, if you're visiting with children,
it might be worth considering a cabana reservation.
Cabanas provide a separate shaded area
and a private space to relax,
and some even come equipped with a refrigerator,
personal safe, and tables.
It seems like it would be even more convenient,
especially if you have a lot of kids' gear
or if several people are using it together.
Just keep in mind that cabana reservation fees
can vary by date, so it's a good idea to check in advance.

Enjoying Beer at the Park MGM Pool Bar

There's also a Pool Bar at the swimming area.
There are two bars within the pool area.
You can order drinks like beer and cocktails there.
What I loved was that
staff members walk around the sunbeds
to take your orders.
You don't even have to go all the way to the bar;
you can order your beer right from your spot.

I also lay on a sunbed
and enjoyed a refreshing glass of beer.
Now *that's* what I call a relaxing Las Vegas resort stay!
Swimming, then resting,
sipping a beer,
going back in the water,
and then lounging on the sunbed again.
It might not be the fanciest facility,
but I truly enjoyed this relaxed atmosphere.
Must-Haves for Your Pool Day
Here's one thing I found a bit challenging.
And that's storing valuables.
I left my phone and personal belongings
on my sunbed and went into the pool.
But I kept worrying about them while I was swimming.
Would someone take them?
Is my phone safe?
I found myself constantly checking back at my sunbed.
So, if I go again,
I'd definitely bring a waterproof pouch or bag.
If it's a product that lets you keep your phone and small items on your person while enjoying the water,
I felt a little more at ease there.
Park MGM Pool: Is it a Pool Party Vibe?

When you think of Las Vegas,
dazzling pool parties often come to mind, right?
However, the Park MGM pool was
a bit different from the pool party vibe
I had imagined.
While there was music playing,
it wasn't the loud, boisterous atmosphere
you'd find at a large dayclub with a DJ.
Instead, it felt more like a resort pool where you can
simply swim,
relax on a sunbed,
and casually enjoy a beer.
So, I think it would be a much better fit
for those looking for a quieter, more relaxing experience.
Craving a Vibrant Pool Party?
Near Park MGM, you'll find
The Cosmopolitan hotel.
The Cosmopolitan's
Marquee Dayclub is the perfect spot to
enjoy a pool party with DJ music.
It's within walking distance from Park MGM,
making it easy to include in your itinerary.
However, unlike a typical hotel pool,
you'll need to check the event schedule
and entry requirements separately.
