Exploring Cafes in Surry Hills, Sydney
THEECA . EEF COFFEE
First stop: THEECA, a truly renowned cafe right here in Surry Hills!
And get this – I heard popular actress Shin Se-kyung even paid it a visit!
THEECA 테카 (Theeca)

I really hoped for a sunny day, but alas,
it was absolutely pouring on the day I visited...
It wasn't even that early, yet there was barely anyone around.
Was this the 'rain effect' in action?

📍 THEECA
1 Burton St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010 Australia
1 Burton St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010, Australia
Brunch (Mon-Fri 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Sat-Sun 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM)
Dinner (Thu-Sun 3:30 PM - 10:00 PM, Fri-Sat 3:30 PM - 11:00 PM)

Even with the drizzle, I was determined to snag a terrace seat!!
I figured if I stayed cooped up indoors on such a gloomy day, I'd just feel even more down,
so I intentionally chose to sit outside.
Hahaha!
Just a quick mention that you'd prefer to sit outside, and they'll happily show you to a spot.

For drinks, I ordered a white coffee for 6 AUD.
(Can't quite remember what my sibling ordered, oops!)
Buttermilk Pancake 29.5 AUD
Prawn and Zucchini Pasta 33 AUD
So that's what we ordered up!

While we waited for our drinks, I took a moment to soak in the cafe's ambiance.
It was such a shame about the rain, though! Ugh, ㅠㅠ
I bet it would have been absolutely stunning if the sun had been out...

Our coffee arrived first, a welcome sight!
Since it was a bit chilly, I definitely went for a warm latte.
Sydney coffee seems to hit the spot pretty reliably, no matter where you try it.

And then came the pancake and pasta!
The buttermilk pancake looked absolutely gorgeous, a true feast for the eyes!

You can cut the pancake into four generous parts like this,
and it's absolutely delicious when paired with that delightful cream and jam!!
The pasta was indeed on the pricier side, but it was absolutely delicious.
Well, for that price, it *should* be delicious, right...?

Since my sibling and I shared this as our brunch,
it wasn't overly filling, which made it absolutely perfect.

It's beautiful, but oh, what a missed opportunity!
I even diligently took my final 'proof-of-visit' shot,
but seriously, please, please try to visit when the sun is shining! ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

And now, it was time to head to the other cafe I'd had my eye on!
Just a short climb up those stairs on the left, and *voilà* – you're there!
EEF COFFEE

Next up: EEF COFFEE, making waves as one of Sydney's hot new cafes.
Looks like they use Market Lane beans – always a great sign for coffee lovers!

📍 EEF Coffee
52 Oxford St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010 Australia

Open Daily 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM

The very first thing that hit me when I stepped inside was:
"Wow, this place genuinely feels like Paris!"

The trees peeking through the windows just amplify that Parisian vibe even more.
Don't those leaves just scream Parisian chic?
Hahaha!
The only minor setback? The cloudy weather...
Otherwise, everything was absolutely perfect!

Having already enjoyed coffee and brunch at Teka,
I just grabbed an Americano to go
while my sibling opted for a cozy hot chocolate!

We took a moment to explore this charming cafe! *,*
This spot is known for offering a slice of European charm right here in Sydney,
and apparently, it's a popular spot for many Chinese visitors seeking that European vibe.
However, when I visited, it seemed to be mostly locals enjoying the atmosphere.

On one side of the cafe, you'll find not only coffee beans but also stylish t-shirts
and even tumblers for sale!
It's like a little merchandise corner, and I think their coffee beans would make a fantastic gift,
definitely worth picking up as a souvenir!

The cafe space itself is quite nice,
but there aren't many seats in the center, mainly along the window side.
This means the number of actual tables where you can sit and relax
isn't as high as you might expect.

My only slight reservation? The tables...
I can't help but wonder if entirely white tables would have made the photos even more stunning (haha).

One last coffee shot before we headed out!
And the coffee itself? Pleasantly delicious and totally hits the spot!
I feel like grabbing brunch at Teka and then swinging by here for a takeaway coffee
is an excellent itinerary if you want to experience two amazing cafes in one day.

And since a trendy Stüssy store is right across the street,
you could easily combine Teka, Stüssy, and EEF COFFEE into a fantastic morning itinerary.
It's a perfect way to kick off your day exploring! *.*
