🎈September 1st - September 7th: A Week-Long Adventure!
Since check-in wasn't until 2:30 PM,
and I couldn't drag my heavy luggage around,
plus I had some time to spare,
and knowing a taxi from Sydney Airport to the city center costs
about AUD $60,
I decided to make my trip as comfortable as possible.
So, I booked a half-day tour!
It's a delightful coastal route that lets you soak in the emotional beauty of the sea on a half-day Eastern tour.

After a 10 and a half-hour flight, I finally
arrived at Sydney Airport in Australia!
I had already filled out the arrival card on the plane,
so after disembarking, I headed straight for the self-service kiosks.
You scan your passport,
answer some questions in Korean (convenient!),
and then it prints a ticket with your face on it.
Just make sure to keep this ticket handy as you exit.
Maybe because it was September and not peak season,
the queue for the kiosks wasn't long at all.
I got my ticket right away and proceeded.
As I was exiting, they checked my ticket and passport,
and even asked for my spouse's phone number, so I wrote that down too before heading out.
After that, you just head out
and follow the blue 'Pickup' signs.
They'll lead you right to the taxi stand!
And our half-day tour vehicle was waiting nearby.
They sent detailed instructions beforehand via KakaoTalk,
even sharing videos and photos of the exact pickup spot.
Our flight was delayed by about 30 minutes,
but they patiently waited for us.
Even though it was just my husband and I – just one team –
our guide gave us a fantastic and thorough explanation.
They shared insights into Australian culture, its people, jobs,
and fascinating details about Bondi Beach, Dudley Page Reserve, and Gap Park.

How to Get to Bondi Beach
From the city, you can reach Bondi Beach by:
Taking bus #333, the Big Bus, or a taxi.
It takes about 40-50 minutes.
It took about 50 minutes from the airport
and we finally arrived at Bondi Beach!
The weather was glorious, with a clear blue sky,
though there was a bit of a breeze.
Even though it was September, the sun was strong enough for short sleeves, but I also layered with long sleeves,
and it got really, really cold at night.
I even ended up catching a cold later... ugh.
Just a month before, Sydney, Australia, had been experiencing endless rain,
but thankfully, we didn't get any rain during our entire trip!
Vast Ocean
Plenty of people were out surfing,
This place was so much fun!
There were so many people jogging, and they all looked incredibly fit!
Both men and women, seriously, everyone seemed to have
worked out so diligently.
It really felt like a vibrant, exciting hotspot! I couldn't stop admiring them!
The waves here are really powerful.
There were also so many people walking their dogs,
and apparently, the dogs here are very well-trained!
If you keep following this path for about 10 minutes,
you'll discover the globally
renowned Icebergs Pool!
It's a place where many people enjoy walking,
and also jogging!
You can also admire unique trees and listen to the sweet songs of birds.

The moment I saw it, I just gasped, "Wow!"
The powerful crashing waves right next to the saltwater pool... what a sight!
And with a cool breeze blowing, it felt incredibly exhilarating and liberating!
Even though it was chilly, so many people were out swimming!
Sydney, Australia, was just transitioning from winter to early spring,
but it was truly impressive to see everyone brave the cold 👍.
Just a heads-up, the water temperature is genuinely cold!
Even singer Rain came here and swam enthusiastically!
I heard the pool water is so salty you absolutely need goggles!
While taking photos here, a friendly Australian person proactively
offered to take our pictures.
So touching and truly kind!
Even at the hotel, when we were a bit lost, a stranger
kindly showed us the way.

Dudley Page is not only a spectacular lookout point
where you can take in the city's beautiful skyline
at a single glance,
but also a park nestled in Dover Heights,
an affluent Eastern Sydney suburb, situated on a hill.
The name Dudley Page
comes from the name of the land's original owner,
who generously donated this private land to Sydney
so everyone could share its stunning views.
You can even spot the iconic Harbour Bridge from here!

It was so much fun, and you can see the genuine joy in my bright smile!
The Gap Park

Gap Road, Watsons Bay NSW 2030 Australia
Its name comes from the 'gap' in the stunning coastal cliffs,
carved out by the relentless waves over time.
Located in Watsons Bay,
it's also famously one of the filming locations for the movie 'Papillon'!
You'll also find a monument dedicated to Lieutenant G.J. Grieve here.
You can even spot whales here!
Although photos can't fully capture it,
the South Pacific Ocean here
was truly magnificent.
