Hotel Review & Recommendation

I recently took a quick weekend trip to Dublin, Ireland, with one main goal in mind: enjoying some authentic Guinness right from the source.
When you are on a tight schedule, finding a hotel with an unbeatable location is absolutely crucial.
However, if you have ever looked into Dublin accommodations, you know they can be incredibly pricey.
Thankfully, I managed to find a modern, fully-equipped hotel featuring a private kitchen and excellent A/C for just around ~$128 per night.
My stay at Staycity Aparthotels Dublin City Quay was absolutely fantastic, and here is my honest review!
About Staycity Aparthotels

Staycity Aparthotels is a highly regarded hotel chain with three different locations across Dublin.
While all of their properties receive excellent reviews, I chose to stay at the City Quay location.
It offered the absolute best balance of prime location and affordability.
With an impressive Google rating of 4.8, the guest reviews speak for themselves.
I booked my stay just a week before my trip during the peak summer season in late July and paid around ~$128 per night. If you book further in advance or travel during the off-season, you can secure even better rates!

Dublin City Quay Studio Room Tour

I arrived early in the morning around 10:00 AM, so my room was not quite ready for check-in yet.
However, the front desk was more than happy to store my bags in their secure luggage room.
A staff member accompanied me to lock up my bags, which made me feel completely secure about leaving my belongings behind.
I headed out to explore and returned at 3:00 PM to officially check in.
The property consists of two adjacent buildings. We booked a studio apartment style, and the friendly staff guided us to our room in the neighboring building.
Access is fully secured via key card entry.

Here is the view right as you step inside. First major plus: no carpet floors! It felt incredibly clean and hygienic.

The room featured two single beds. If you prefer a double bed, you can request them to be joined together prior to arrival.
The bed frames have wheels on them, so they slide apart a bit too easily, but that was a very minor detail.

The mattress itself was incredibly comfortable, clean, and supportive.
There is a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall, and our window looked out over a standard city street view.

My absolute favorite part of the room was the fully equipped kitchenette.

It comes with a Nespresso coffee machine stocked with four capsules (including decaf), plus instant coffee and tea selections.
There is also a microwave and a refrigerator. Note that bottled water is not provided, so you will want to grab some at a local shop.
For cooking, you have an induction cooktop, pots, pans, knives, cutlery, plates, cups, and even wine glasses.

We brought our own chopsticks to enjoy some late-night instant ramen in the room!

Some online reviews mentioned that the kitchen sink is quite small, but honestly, it does not matter because there is a built-in dishwasher!
You just give your dishes a quick rinse, load them into the dishwasher, and run it right before you check out.
They even provide a complimentary dishwasher detergent tablet.

The bathroom is clean, modern, and features a spacious walk-in shower.
An all-in-one body wash and shampoo is provided in the dispenser.

We were provided with two large bath towels and one hand towel, which was more than enough for our quick stay.
The air conditioning worked flawlessly. Dublin weather is generally mild, so even in late July, we ended up turning it off at night because the room got beautifully cool.
Shared Amenities

Right next to the lobby is a cozy breakfast dining area, though we opted out of the hotel breakfast.
With amazing local bakeries, supermarkets, and your own in-room kitchen, there is really no need to pay extra for hotel breakfast.

There is also a compact fitness center on-site, perfect for anyone looking to squeeze in a quick, light workout during their travels.

The location is hard to beat. We easily walked to Temple Bar, and the main train and bus stations are just minutes away.
Even walking back late at night around 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM, the streets were lively and felt incredibly safe.
Plus, there is a Tesco supermarket right downstairs, making it incredibly convenient to stock up on snacks and drinks.
To top it all off, the staff here are absolutely wonderful and incredibly welcoming!
If you are planning a trip to Dublin, I highly recommend staying here!
