I recently visited Sonobel Cheongsong (소노벨 청송) Hot Spring with my mother, who is in her 60s. My biggest tip? If you're staying at Sonobel Cheongsong, you absolutely *must* experience Solsaem Hot Spring (솔샘온천)! What started as a casual trip turned into a deep appreciation for this incredible hot spring. My mom even said it was one of the best hotel/resort experiences we've had together – she absolutely loved it!

While not an enormous hot spring, its intimate size means the atmosphere can change significantly with crowds. That's why I'd recommend visiting a bit earlier, perhaps in late fall or early winter, before the peak season truly kicks in.

1. Sonobel Cheongsong + Solsaem Hot Spring Package Deal

When I made my reservation, my primary focus wasn't just the room rate alone. Instead, I compared the total cost for a 'Room + Solsaem Hot Spring (솔샘온천) for 2 people' package. If you're planning to use the hot spring anyway, booking a package deal from the start is significantly more affordable than securing a cheap room and paying for the hot spring separately upon arrival!

2. Solsaem Hot Spring Honest Review

While Solsaem Hot Spring has indoor baths, my absolute favorite was the outdoor rotenburo! Surrounded by lush bamboo and trees, the open-air bath offered a serene atmosphere. The air was crisp and cool, yet the water kept my body wonderfully warm – it truly felt like a little slice of heaven.

When traveling with parents, I've found that having dedicated relaxation time at the accommodation, rather than constantly touring, significantly boosts overall satisfaction. My mom kept raving about how much she enjoyed the hot spring after we left, and honestly, if I return to Cheongsong (청송), I'd choose Sonobel again just for Solsaem Hot Spring!
However, it is a bit smaller than some other well-known hot springs, so I highly recommend visiting when it's less crowded for the best experience.

You won't need to pack much either. Essentials like toner, lotion, hairdryers, and towels were readily available. Inside the baths, there was even all-in-one body wash and liquid soap, which made packing light incredibly convenient.

If you're traveling with your parents, like I was, definitely prioritize options that include Solsaem Hot Spring from the start, rather than just booking a room. After experiencing it, I can confidently say the hot spring, more than the room itself, determined our overall satisfaction with the stay.
3. Family Standard Twin Room Review

My mom and I stayed in a Family Standard Twin Room. It featured two single beds side-by-side, and a table with chairs by the window, which was perfect for enjoying snacks and chatting. Most importantly, having separate beds made traveling with my mother incredibly comfortable.

Our room overlooked a lush forest, so opening the curtains in the morning to a vibrant green view was a delightful bonus. It was truly a resort-style room, ideal for relaxing after a soothing hot spring session!

And when traveling with parents, while room condition is important, the real key is how comfortably you can spend your time within the accommodation itself.

The convenience of relaxing in our room and then easily heading to Solsaem Hot Spring without needing to drive anywhere else was a perfect combination for this trip to Cheongsong with my 60-year-old mother.
