When you're staying at a mountain resort, it can be tricky for the driver to enjoy a drink with dinner. But here, having a fantastic Hanwoo restaurant right outside is a huge plus. The hotel's internal restaurant was also delicious and reasonably priced.

Solseam Hot Spring

Solseam Hot Spring is located on the B3 level of Sonobel Cheongsong. Due to the hotel's hillside location, this floor feels like the ground level. The water is a slightly alkaline hot spring, sourced from 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) underground, rich in sulfates, calcium, and strontium. After just using shampoo, my skin felt noticeably softer and smoother – it's truly remarkable.

Operating hours are from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. There's a cleaning time from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on weekdays (Monday-Friday). On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the hot spring operates continuously without a break, which is great for weekend visitors.

The regular non-member price is ~$14 for adults and ~$10 for children.

Pricing Information

As I mentioned, the non-member admission for Solseam Hot Spring is ~$14 per adult, and breakfast at Sudallae is ~$27 per person. So, if two people use the hot spring once and have breakfast once, it quickly adds up to almost ~$83. Adding this to the room rate can make it quite expensive.

However, based on a search for late September 2026 (around the Chuseok holiday), Agoda offers a 'Smart Choice' 1-night package (including buffet breakfast for 3 people) for ~$116!

Rooms

We stayed in a Standard Suite, and it was fantastic – clean, spacious, and offered a beautiful view of Juwangsan. At approximately 925 sq ft, with two bedrooms (one with a double bed, one a traditional Korean ondol room) and two bathrooms, it was incredibly roomy, perfect for families or traveling with parents. The room includes one double bed and three sets of traditional Korean bedding (yo-ibul) for the ondol room.

We opted for a room type without a kitchen, which was perfectly fine as we didn't plan on cooking. If you don't intend to cook, this type is more than sufficient. The condo-style layout made unpacking easy, and the overall feel was neat and uncluttered.

Sudallae Restaurant

For dinner, we indulged in the medicinal chicken stew at Sudallae, located on the B2 level. Did you know Cheongsong is famous for its 'yaksu' (medicinal spring water)? When searching for local eateries, you'll often find 88 Restaurant and Sinchon Restaurant praised for their medicinal chicken stew. However, since we were on vacation and wanted to enjoy a drink, we chose Sudallae within the hotel.

We paired our stew with Cheongsong Apple Makgeolli (a traditional Korean rice wine), and wow, it was absolutely delicious! The makgeolli genuinely tasted of apples, not artificial at all, and was wonderfully refreshing.

Chicken stew takes a while to prepare, so we called ahead to make a reservation. As a hotel guest, we also received a discount. The staff were incredibly friendly, making our meal a truly pleasant experience. 😊

Overall Review

If you're still deciding on accommodation for your Cheongsong trip, I wholeheartedly recommend Sonobel Cheongsong. Its proximity to Juwangsan, the fantastic hot spring, and convenient dining options make it an unbeatable choice.
