Hello there, fellow travelers! +_+
The much-anticipated summer vacation season is finally upon us!
For those planning a trip to Songjeong Beach, one of Busan's premier summer destinations and a true surfer's paradise,
I've put together a comprehensive guide based on my three recent visits, covering everything from the latest 2026 opening information
to smart ways to save on parking, affordable shower options, and my honest, detailed recommendations for Songjeong accommodations that offer unbeatable value and location!
1. 2026 Busan Songjeong Beach Opening & Operating Hours

This year, Busan's Songjeong Beach, along with Haeundae, opened its doors quite early for the season.
🔻 Songjeong Beach - Opening Schedule / Hours 🔻
▪ Opening Period: 06/26/2026 (Friday) ~ 08/31/2026 (Monday)
▪ Operating Hours: 9:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM (Lifeguard presence hours)
▪ No entry into the water outside operating hours
As a renowned surfing spot, Songjeong is known for its dynamic waves.
This means it might be less suitable for those looking for calm snorkeling or tranquil swimming experiences,

But on the flip side, for wave riding, this beach is absolutely perfect!
Instead of just swimming, grab a tube and let yourself go – you'll experience a thrilling water ride that rivals any water park wave pool. +.+
Personally, the combination of a tube and Songjeong's waves was incredibly fun!👍
(Just be prepared for some sore armpits the next day!)
2. Water Play Equipment Rental & Facilities (Showers, Restrooms, Foot Washing Areas)

.jpg?type=w3840)
Here's essential information about the facilities you'll need for water activities.
Beach equipment can be rented at various spots along the sand, and both cash and card payments are accepted.
🔻⛱️ Beach Equipment Rental Prices 🔻
▪ Parasol: ~$6
▪ Beach Bed: ~$6
▪ Tube: ~$6
▪ Life Vest: ~$1
▪ Beach Mat: ~$1
+ Pro Tip ✨
If you rent a parasol, a beach mat is provided for free, so there's no need to lug your own!

Also, there are free temporary changing rooms dotted along the beach, so you don't need to wear your swimsuit from home.

There are also 24-hour lockers available. I left my phone on the sand for three days straight and, while a bit worried, it was never stolen!

Showering after water activities is a must!
Here's the shower facility information.
🔻🚿 Songjeong Shower Facilities Info 🔻
▪ Operating Hours: 10:30 AM ~ 6:30 PM
▪ Location: Across from GS Songjeong Premium Store, in front of Jukdo Park
▪ Price: ~$1 per minute / purchase coins
▪ Water Temperature: Not hot, not cold, just lukewarm!🚿
+ Budget Shower Tip ✨
Use the outdoor temporary showers behind the Songjeong Beach Service Center!
Since it's outdoors, it's only ~$0.50 per minute, making it a great value for a quick rinse to get rid of salt water.

If you just need to rinse sand off your feet,
you can use the hoses at the two locations below.
They are quite spaced out, so I recommend familiarizing yourself with their locations beforehand!
🔻 Foot Washing Station Info 🔻
▪ Behind Songjeong Beach Service Center
▪ Restroom in front of Songjeong Jukdo Island
✅ Check the map for restroom / shower / foot washing locations‼️👀✨

I've marked the locations of restrooms, showers, lockers, and foot washing stations on the map, so please refer to the photo. 😊
When facing the ocean, the left side of the beach, where Jukdo Island is located, is for swimming and water play, while the right side is exclusively for surfing. You can choose your spot accordingly.
3. How to Avoid Parking Fees (Public Parking Comparison)

Parking fees at Songjeong Beach vary significantly depending on the area...
🔻 Parking Information 🔻
▪❌ Not Recommended - Blueline Park Songjeong Station Public Parking
👉 The daily maximum here is ~$13, which is quite expensive.
Unless there are no other options, I recommend avoiding this one.🥲
▪⭕ Recommended - Beachside Street Public Parking
▪ July-August: ~$0.20 per 10 minutes / Daily maximum ~$5
▪ September-June: ~$0.15 per 10 minutes / Daily maximum ~$3
👉 The street parking stretched along the beach is much more affordable, with a daily maximum of ~$5 even during peak season!
However, it tends to fill up by afternoon, so I recommend arriving early.
4. The Perfect Post-Water Play Itinerary! 'Blue Castle Pension' - Just a 1-Minute Walk

After three visits recently, I've become quite familiar with Busan's Songjeong Beach...
One day, I even unexpectedly caught a 'Jjaebok' clam, which is typically only found in Gangwon-do province.

If you're looking to avoid parking stress and enjoy a refreshing hot shower after your time in Songjeong, I highly recommend <Blue Castle Hotel & Pension>, which boasts an incredible location.
It's less than a 30-second walk to Songjeong Station and under a minute to the beach, situated right in the heart of the area. Its location is simply unmatched... and the facilities are great too.

Here's a booking tip: you can get the cheapest rate by selecting the <Assigned at Check-in (City View)> room on Agoda! +_+

While there are some parking spots available, they are limited. Most vehicles will need to use the parking tower.
Please note that SUVs and large sedans cannot enter the parking tower; only sedans comparable to a Hyundai Grandeur can use it.
For larger vehicles and SUVs, I recommend arriving early to secure a parking spot.

I received a randomly assigned room, but it was a twin room, clean, and spacious, so I was very satisfied!

Cooking isn't allowed, but there's a sink, which was convenient for handwashing swimsuits while someone else showered.

There's a washing machine, so if you need it, it's a good idea to bring laundry pods.
It was also incredibly useful just for spinning out wet swimsuits.

There's a TV and a vanity, which made getting ready for outings convenient.

The refrigerator was genuinely huge!

The bathroom was simply neat and tidy. 😊
I was very satisfied that I could take a warm shower after water activities, especially when my body temperature was lower.

Songjeong is famous for fresh sashimi and grilled clams.
Near Busan Songjeong accommodation, Blue Castle Pension, there are numerous grilled clam restaurants and sashimi eateries, making it wonderfully convenient to enjoy a refreshing drink in the evening and then take a leisurely stroll back to your room.
5. Concluding Thoughts

Imagine this summer vacation itinerary: exhilarating wave riding with a tube in Songjeong, followed by a warm shower back at your accommodation, then a delicious meal of grilled clams with a drink, and finally drifting off to sleep listening to the sound of the waves...
It's pure bliss, just thinking about it! 🥰
During peak season, accommodations near Songjeong Beach are highly sought after, and rooms at Blue Castle Pension, with its prime location and excellent value, tend to fill up quickly.
So, I recommend booking a randomly assigned room on Yeogi Eottae to secure a great deal. 😖
