If you're planning a family trip to the East Coast (동해안) of Gangwon-do (강원도),

you might be worried about where to stay.

Usually, when I travel with my husband,

I don't worry too much about accommodations.

But for a family trip with my parents,

I constantly worry about things like, 'What if the photos don't match reality?'

or 'What if they said it's an ocean view, but when we get there,

we can only see a tiny bit of the sea?'

All sorts of worries always come along.

While preparing for my trip to Samcheok (삼척),

I looked up several reviews for the Sol Beach Samcheok (쏠비치 삼척) suite rooms,

and having personally stayed one night in a Sweet Partial Ocean View room,

I'd like to share only what I actually confirmed.

From the check-in process to the room structure,

and even the facilities, these are helpful things to know before booking.

Why I Chose Sol Beach Samcheok's Sweet Partial Ocean View Room

The Samcheok Sol Beach (쏠비치 삼척) I booked with my own money is

located at 453 Surobuin-gil (수로부인길), Samcheok-si (삼척시), Gangwon-do.

It's a famous resort known for its exotic exterior,

reminiscent of Santorini.

It takes about three and a half hours by car from Seoul (서울),

and if you just type 'Sol Beach Samcheok' into your navigation,

I was able to find it without any trouble.

Right next to the resort are Samcheok Beach (삼척해수욕장) and

a private beach,

and it even has a convenience store, cafe, water park, and game zone,

so you can spend a full day there without even needing to go outside.

Among them, the Sweet Partial Ocean View room is

With two rooms, two bathrooms,

and even cooking facilities,

it was the perfect room for families.

Sol Beach Samcheok (쏠비치 삼척) Basic Information: Check-in, Check-out, Parking, Breakfast Price

Official check-in is from 3 PM to 10 PM,

and check-out is by 11 AM.

Parking and Wi-Fi were available

for free to all guests.

Breakfast is served buffet-style at Chef's Kitchen (셰프스키친) on the first floor,

costing ₩43,000 (~$32) for adults, ₩26,000 (~$20) for elementary school students,

and ₩17,000 (~$13) for infants over 37 months.

Room rates vary significantly depending on the room type

and booking time.

Even for a standard room, weekday and weekend rates

differed by almost twofold.

The most accurate way to check the exact rates for a Suite Partial Ocean View room

was to directly input your desired dates.

It's also good to note that exceeding the standard occupancy incurs an additional ₩11,000 (~$8) per person per night,

and adding bedding costs

an extra ₩25,000 (~$19) per night.

Sol Beach Samcheok Suite Room Review: My Personal Experience

Although check-in time was from 3 PM, you could get a room assignment early on a first-come, first-served basis.

So when I arrived around 2:30 PM, there were already a lot of people,

and getting a waiting number, checking in, and getting our room key

took about 40 minutes in total.

The lobby was spacious and the staff were friendly,

so waiting wasn't too tiring.

As soon as I opened the room door, what caught my eye was

the layout of two rooms and two bathrooms, and the East Sea (동해) view stretching beyond the terrace.

It was also a small but satisfying bonus that we could use the discount coupons received at check-in

to get discounts on things like the Mamatira Cafe (마마티라 카페) at Santorini Square (산토리니 광장)

and the cable car.

What was best of all was the private beach,

the fact that we could quietly enjoy the sea without other tourists

made me want to come back again!
