you can get there with just a 5-minute walk,
making it highly recommended for travelers on foot!
As I approached the cafe,
the unique, European-style alley added to the atmosphere,
and I could already feel the excitement building.
Just be prepared — there's almost always a long line
and a buzzing crowd!
With a hip vibe,
its open-plan design made it stand out even more,
and you can even grab a takeaway right out front.
You can self-serve and pay for batch brew coffee.
Knowing Single O often has a queue,
I made sure to arrive a little early.
Luckily, arriving around 9:30 AM, I was able to get a seat right away.
Australian cafes are known for opening bright and early
but often close by 3 PM,
so getting an early start was key.
If you wait here for a moment,
a friendly staff member will come out to kindly guide you,
and we were able to go straight in without a hitch.
Seating
Inside, you'll find about 6 seats,
plus around 5 outdoor spots,
and even some cool bar seating.
Right as you step inside, the atmosphere is incredibly lively!
The vibe is super bright and energetic!
Even this early in the morning, it's buzzing with total hotspot energy!
There were so many locals here,
the seats filled up fast,
and there were tons of people waiting,
creating a wonderfully bustling vibe!
The Menu
Their signature items were banana bread and
oat latte, but
since we hadn't eaten anything yet,
🎈Flat White ($6),
Cafe Mocha ($6),
Lemon Pepper Chicken Toast ($24),
and Banana Bread ($13) – we really went for it! 😅
The Food
Just looking at the coffee and bread makes them seem absolutely delicious!
And how about those coffee cups? So pretty and full of character, right?
First off, Single O Cafe truly takes its coffee seriously.
They use high-quality beans and roast them right there themselves!
My Flat White was absolutely divine, with rich, velvety foam and a delightful acidity that woke up my taste buds.
And the Cafe Mocha? Oh, it was brimming with chocolatey goodness!
Both were incredibly delicious, but...
But...
I ended up discovering my *ultimate* number one coffee here!! Get ready for this...
While the coffee was certainly a highlight,
it was THIS toast that truly stole the show and my heart!
“Lemon & Pepperberry Chicken Toastie”
It was a Lemon & Pepperberry Chicken Toastie, and trust me, it's as good as it sounds.
The cheese was intensely flavorful,
the bread perfectly crispy,
and even the veggies were incredibly tasty. Every bite was pure bliss!
Now, this little gem, the banana bread, is quite famous here.
The dollop of butter on top was lovely,
but to be honest, I found the banana flavor a bit subtle,
and the overall taste was just okay for me.
But for me, personally, that incredible toast was the true winner!
In this hip and utterly delightful atmosphere,
I savored every sip of coffee and every bite of toast.
Stepping outside, I found cozy waiting chairs –
perfect for a quick photo op and some relaxed dog-watching!
I loved soaking up the relaxed vibe a little longer before moving on.
Single O Surry Hills is, without a doubt, a must-visit café for anyone exploring Sydney!
It's the perfect spot to enjoy a delightful brunch after a morning stroll,
truly experience the vibrant coffee culture of Australia,
and immerse yourself in its charming, unique alleys and lively atmosphere.
