Singapore in August 2026: Weather, Deals & Itinerary
Planning a trip to Singapore in August 2026? Discover why late summer brings the best weather, massive shopping discounts, and the perfect travel itinerary.
Since Singapore is hot year-round,
you might think the weather is pretty much the same whenever you visit.
But there is actually a slightly better time to travel!
Personally, I highly recommend planning a Singapore trip in July or August.
The weather is relatively stable,
and there are plenty of massive shopping sales, making for an incredibly satisfying trip.
By visiting indoor attractions during the heat of the day
and enjoying the stunning night views on a river cruise in the evening,
I was able to explore much more comfortably.
To help you plan your getaway, I've put together a guide on the July/August weather,
flight times, and a recommended itinerary!

1. Singapore Weather in July & August

With its tropical climate, Singapore stays warm all year round.
But staying true to its vision as a "City in a Garden,"
it's a place where a stunning urban skyline beautifully harmonizes with lush, vibrant greenery—
making it an absolute must-visit destination.

To escape a bit of the intense heat caused by high humidity,
traveling in July and August is highly recommended,
as these months see relatively lower rainfall compared to other times of the year.
While actual temperatures don't change much, the lower rainfall and humidity
mean that the real-feel temperature is much more comfortable.
You might encounter sudden passing showers,
but they rarely last long,
so you won't have to worry about your plans getting rained out.

Another fantastic reason to visit Singapore in July and August
is the GSS (Great Singapore Sale)!
The GSS is Singapore's signature shopping festival.
Usually happening between June and August,
you'll find massive discounts across various brands, department stores, and malls.

From major shopping hubs like Orchard Road, the Marina Bay Sands mall,
and VivoCity,
it's incredibly easy to score great deals. If you have shopping on your mind,
July and August are definitely the best times to go!

2. Singapore Time & Flights

Direct flights from Incheon (Seoul) to Singapore
take about 6 hours 30 minutes to 6 hours 50 minutes.
I flew with Korean Air,
but unfortunately, I hit a period of particularly heavy turbulence.
It actually felt more tiring than a much longer long-haul flight...

The time difference between Korea and Singapore is just 1 hour.
Singapore is 1 hour behind Korea.
So when it's 10:00 AM in Korea, it's 9:00 AM in Singapore.
Because the time difference is practically non-existent,
I loved that there was absolutely no jet lag to deal with after landing!
The flight time isn't exactly short, but with almost zero jet lag
and Singapore itself being relatively compact,
you won't waste precious travel time on transit.
It's the perfect, hassle-free destination for a quick getaway!

3. Recommended Travel Itinerary

Personally, I recommend a 4-night itinerary.
Depending on your flight schedule, a 5-day/4-night or
6-day/4-night trip is ideal to truly take in everything Singapore has to offer.
Since most flights land late at night on Day 1,
it's usually best to just head straight to your hotel and rest.
For Day 2, I recommend exploring Gardens by the Bay
and checking out the city's multicultural neighborhoods!

Even though July and August are relatively less hot,
Singapore is still fundamentally a warm tropical destination,
so it's smart to focus on indoor attractions during the day.
That's why I also chose spots where I could enjoy comfortable sightseeing even during the daytime, such as...
I visited Gardens by the Bay during the hottest part of the day.

Gardens by the Bay is home to the world-renowned
Flower Dome and Cloud Forest.
Our first stop, the Flower Dome, is listed in the Guinness World Records
as the world's largest glass greenhouse,
where you can see incredible flowers and plants from Mediterranean and subtropical regions.
It was so refreshing to wander around the cool dome and explore
a ton of unique plants that you rarely get to see back home.

The Cloud Forest features a massive 35-meter-tall indoor waterfall
that absolutely takes your breath away with its sheer scale.
It's so incredibly tall that it's hard to even fit the whole thing into a single photo,
and walking along the misty pathways around this artificial waterfall is such a thrilling experience.
While you can buy tickets on-site at Gardens by the Bay,
booking them in advance through a travel site
saves you from wasting time standing in ticket lines,
and the prices are much cheaper than buying on-site.
Here is a comparison of admission ticket prices across different booking sites:
Gardens by the Bay: Flower Dome + Cloud Forest | |
Klook | KKday |
~$24 | ~$24 |
The base price is equally low on Klook and KKday,
and since both offer a ~$1 discount coupon,
you can just book through whichever site you find more convenient!

Singapore is a multicultural, multi-ethnic city-state,
which means you'll find distinct cultural enclaves throughout the city.
Because of this, the vibe changes completely with just a short walk.
Visiting each neighborhood felt like traveling to a whole new country,
making me feel like I was getting a huge bonus out of this trip haha.
I visited Little India, Arab Street, and Chinatown,
but the one I recommend most is definitely Arab Street!

For your third day, I highly recommend
spending the entire day at Sentosa!
Sentosa is a small island in Singapore,
and the entire place serves as one massive theme park and resort island.
It features the world-renowned Universal Studios,
as well as the Skyline Luge, zip lines, and an aquarium.

Since it's an island, the beaches are also beautifully maintained.
There are three artificial beaches in total—
Siloso Beach, Palawan Beach, and Tanjong Beach—
and each has its own unique vibe, making them so fun to explore.
When I went to Siloso Beach, some people were swimming.
Since I wasn't wearing swimwear, I could only dip my feet in,
which left me wishing I could have jumped right in!

Day 4 is all about a deep dive into Singapore's iconic landmarks!
Marina Bay Sands - Merlion Park - Supertree Grove Show
During the scorching hot afternoon, escape to the Marina Bay Sands Shoppes,
then head up to the observation deck. Looking down at the entire Singapore skyline
is an absolutely breathtaking, refreshing experience!
Once the heat cools down a bit, head over to Merlion Park
to snap that classic photo with the Merlion—
because you can't really say you've been to Singapore without it!

After dinner, catch the Supertree Grove Show
at Gardens by the Bay, and you'll experience
an incredible harmony between nature and technology.
Since the trees are so tall, watching the show while standing up can strain your neck.
Many people brought picnic mats or small blankets to sit or lie down on,
which looked way more comfortable.
If you want to enjoy the show to the fullest, bringing a disposable picnic mat is a great idea!

On the fifth day, visit the Botanic Gardens, Lau Pa Sat, and take a River Cruise...
I highly recommend planning an easygoing itinerary to explore.
The Botanic Gardens span an area equivalent to about 110 soccer fields,
so it's massive! Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to wander.
I suggest heading there in the relatively cooler morning hours to explore,
then take a relaxing break at one of the cafes or restaurants
inside the gardens when the midday heat kicks in.
Once the temperature drops a bit, you can head back out to finish your tour!

While general admission is completely free, a few specific areas require a ticket.
The National Orchid Garden is absolutely stunning,
so it's definitely worth paying the entry fee to check it out!

Lau Pa Sat, a super popular open-air beer spot packed with locals,
is just a regular street during the day.
But come evening, the road is closed to traffic,
and rows of tables fill the street, transforming it into a lively night market!
You can enjoy delicious satay paired with ice-cold beer.
Satay consists of mouthwatering charcoal-grilled skewers,
offering various meats like chicken, beef, and mutton,
as well as seafood options like prawns, making it a treat everyone can enjoy!

The perfect way to wrap up your Singapore adventure:
The Clarke Quay River Cruise
This was hands down my most memorable moment in Singapore.
Since Singapore is famous for its dazzling skyline,
the night view from the river is absolutely breathtaking.
Hop on the river cruise to catch a cool breeze
and comfortably take in the stunning night views.
Just like other attractions, buying your tickets in advance online
is much cheaper than purchasing them on-site.

Klook | KKday |
~$21 | ~$19 |
Among the most popular travel booking platforms,
MyRealTrip offers the lowest price,
so make sure to apply the discount code to save some extra cash on your trip!

What made the river cruise extra special as a final-day itinerary
was getting to see all the famous landmarks
we’d visited throughout our trip one last time. It was incredibly memorable!
