01. A Must-See on Your Singapore Itinerary
Indoor Conservatories: Weather-Proof Wonders
Nestled right in the heart of the city, near Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay is a massive eco-friendly park. While the outdoor gardens are stunning, walking under the intense Southeast Asian sun can quickly wear you out.
That's why I highly recommend taking refuge in the indoor conservatories, the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, especially during scorching afternoons or rainy spells. Boasting the Guinness World Record for the largest column-less glass greenhouse, the sheer scale of these structures is absolutely breathtaking the moment you step inside. The air conditioning is fantastic, making it a perfect spot to cool down and explore at your leisure.
02. The Flower Dome and Cloud Forest
The Majesty of a Giant Indoor Waterfall
Upon entering the Cloud Forest, you're immediately greeted by an impressive 115-foot (35-meter) indoor waterfall. The rush of the falling water and the misty pathways make you feel like you've truly stepped into a deep, ancient forest.
This photo captures the waterfall right at the entrance; while it's hard to convey its immense size in a picture, it's truly magnificent in person.

You'll take an elevator to the top and then follow a winding aerial walkway down, which is much easier on your feet. The Flower Dome, on the other hand, is charmingly decorated with a diverse array of plants from around the globe, making it a fantastic spot for photos.
Both conservatories offer plenty to see, so it's best to allow ample time for a relaxed visit. Generally, plan for about 1 to 2 hours in each.
03. Gardens by the Bay Tickets & Operating Hours for 2026
Essential Info Before You Visit
While the outdoor gardens are open from 5:00 AM to 2:00 AM daily and are free to enter, you'll need a paid ticket for admission to the two indoor conservatories. They operate from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with last entry between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM, so be sure to arrive with enough time.
For exact prices if purchasing on-site, check the official website or the ticket counter. However, you can often find combo deals and discounts by booking in advance through online travel agencies like Klook or MyRealTrip. Having a pre-purchased voucher means you can skip the ticket counter lines and enter directly, saving you time and energy. Additionally, note that the two domes have different closing days, so be sure to check that both are open on your planned visit date!

While there are packages that include shuttle buses or observatory access, I personally don't find them essential. For adults, walking around leisurely isn't too strenuous. However, if you're traveling with elderly companions or young children, the shuttle bus might be a more comfortable option.
04. Top Tips for Your Visit
Experience the Magic Day and Night
A great itinerary is to explore the cool conservatories during the day, then head out to the Supertree Grove around sunset. There, you can catch the free 'Garden Rhapsody' light and music show every evening, which feels like stepping onto Pandora from the movie 'Avatar'.
The Supertree show is free and plays twice daily at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM. I highly recommend bringing a mat or blanket and arriving 30-40 minutes early to secure a good spot. When I lived in Singapore, I went to see the Supertree show multiple times because it's truly spectacular – don't miss it!
Tips
• The indoor conservatories are quite chilly due to strong air conditioning, so bring a light jacket or cardigan.
• Pre-booking through online travel agencies allows you to bypass the ticket counter lines and enter directly with a QR code.
• I suggest starting your conservatory visit around 4-5 PM, so you can finish exploring and then head out to enjoy the free outdoor evening show.
