Singapore Airlines Review: Our 3-Day Trip & Flight Experience 2026
Embarking on a 3-day Singapore adventure? We share our experience flying Singapore Airlines, focusing on smart flight choices and the comfortable journey.
As we prepared for our 3-night, 4-day trip to Singapore,
we started by deciding on our flights.
I had visited Singapore before,
but for my husband, this was his first time.
Since it was a short trip,
the departure and arrival times were crucial.

Our chosen airline was
Singapore Airlines.
We planned for a morning departure
and an afternoon departure on our return day.

Once we set these criteria,
planning the rest of our trip became much smoother.

How did we prepare for our 3-night, 4-day Singapore adventure?

For our 3-night, 4-day Singapore trip,
maximizing the first and last days was key.
That's why we looked at departure times first,
rather than just comparing prices.
Here were the criteria we considered:
Comparison Item | Selection Criteria |
Departure | Morning departure |
Return | Afternoon departure |
Airline | Affordable ticket (at the time, Singapore Airlines) |
Trip Duration | 3 nights, 4 days |
Trip Style | Independent travel |
Taking a morning flight
meant we had the advantage of being able to
start exploring right after arriving in Singapore.
On the other hand, if our return flight was too early,
we wouldn't be able to make much use of our last day, right?
That's why we also prioritized afternoon departures
for our return flight.
For shorter trips,
flight times really make a big difference
in how much you feel you've experienced.
What did we look at first when booking Singapore flights?

When booking our Singapore flights,
we compared arrival and departure times first.
Then, we checked the airlines
and confirmed they aligned with our travel plans.

Since this was my husband's first visit,
I decided to plan our itinerary
even more strategically.
I realized that even if you pack a lot of sightseeing into your plan,
an awkward arrival time can throw off your entire first day.
That's why we set our criteria:
a morning departure and an afternoon return.

By narrowing down our options like this,
the process of choosing flights
became much simpler.
For us, the usable time was more important
than just finding the cheapest fare.
If you've compared flight times,
why not compare them against the conditions I chose?

How did we do mobile check-in?
We checked in beforehand using the Singapore Airlines mobile app.
It was much more convenient to do it before departure than to handle everything from scratch at the airport.
On short trips, you feel like every moment spent at the airport is precious, right?

So, before heading to the airport, we checked the app and completed the necessary steps in advance.
If it's your first time using it, it's a good idea to check how to check in on the app beforehand.
By preparing in advance, our movements on the day of departure were much smoother.
What were the in-flight meal options on Singapore Airlines?

Singapore Airlines in-flight meals were served once on each leg of the flight.
Along with the meal, ice cream was also provided as dessert.

The meat dish I had was similar to Korean Galbi (short ribs).
The fish dish tasted like an Asian-style pasta.

It wasn't as unfamiliar a taste as I expected, so it was quite palatable.
Even on a short flight, having a meal onboard really made it feel like the journey had officially begun!
Category | Menu Code |
Infant Meal | BBML |
Child Meal | CHML |
Asian Child Meal | CHMLA |
Vegetarian Child Meal | CHMLV |
Fruit Platter Meal | FPML |
Other | Seafood Meal, etc. |
And it turns out, in addition to the standard menu, you can also choose special in-flight meals.
Menus are separately categorized not only by religion and dietary restrictions but also by allergies and age.
If you're traveling with children, it's worth checking out the kids' menu in advance.
When should you request a special in-flight meal?
Special in-flight meals can be requested through "Manage Booking" on the website or app.
According to the information provided, you need to select it at least 24 hours before departure.
For some flights, you can even pre-select your main dish from the standard menu.
Request Item | Request Timing | Request Method |
Standard Menu | Pre-selection from 6 weeks before departure | Website/App |
Special In-flight Meal | At least 24 hours prior | Website/App |
If you have allergies, you'll want to check this part a bit more carefully.
It's a good idea to check.
You'll find advisories that allergens
can be present on board.
Even if you request a special meal,
it's important to note that it's challenging
to fully guarantee the absence of trace ingredients.
While we didn't request a special meal,
if I were traveling with children,
I'd definitely look into these details beforehand.
What else did I wonder about besides Singapore Airlines in-flight meals?

I was also curious about the in-flight Wi-Fi.
At the time, if you were a KrisFlyer member,
you could use it for free even in Economy.
However, the results for the two flights we took
were a little different.
On flight SQ607, the Wi-Fi
actually connected and was usable.

Conversely, on flight SQ606,
the aircraft wasn't equipped for free Wi-Fi,
so we couldn't use it.
It turns out that even with the same airline,
services can differ depending on the specific flight.

So, alongside Singapore Airlines in-flight meals,
I also looked into the in-flight services.
Especially if Wi-Fi is a must-have for you,
it's a good idea to check for it
when confirming your flight details.
If I were to choose a flight again, what would I look for?

If I were planning another 3-night, 4-day trip to Singapore,
I think I'd follow the same sequence when choosing my flight.
First, I'd look at the departure and return times,
then compare airlines. I'd also check
services like in-flight meals and Wi-Fi.
Having tried Singapore Airlines' in-flight meals myself,
I'd say they were perfectly decent.

If you need a special meal,
it's best to check the application conditions beforehand.
Ultimately, what was most important to us
wasn't the absolute cheapest price, but rather
how to make the most of our short travel period.
If you're booking a flight to Singapore,
it's a great approach to first define your desired travel flow
and then find flights that match it.
Here's the flight I booked myself ✈️
Feel free to compare the current conditions too.
