This bar seemed to have more locals
than hotel guests.
It was quite crowded,
so we had to queue.
At the counter,
they asked if we were heading to Altitude Restaurant
or visiting the bar.
We told them our room number
and said we were there for the bar.
Reservations are also possible
through their official website.
You can also make reservations
via Google.

As you step inside,
you'll be greeted by mood lighting
in darker tones,
and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows
stretch along the wall,
allowing you to take in the city view and harbor view.

At sunset,
window seats
are highly coveted and fill up quickly.

The dress code is
smart casual,
so it's best to avoid
overly relaxed attire.
You can also enjoy the bar's food
from the comfort of your hotel room,
available for order from the 'BAR SELECTION' menu.

The night view here is absolutely stunning!
Being on a high floor
with floor-to-ceiling windows
makes it even
more spectacular.
And getting to see fireworks
up close
made the experience
even more romantic!

We didn't order any snacks,
but we tried an Asahi (AUD 17) and
an Australian beer (AUD 14).
And oh my goodness, that Australian beer!
It was incredibly delicious!

And Arancini too!

They kindly served butter
and mustard sauce separately,
perfect for enjoying with the bread.
The Food

While the mashed potatoes were delicious,
what truly surprised me was finding mini carrots
and rapeseed greens here!
The braised rapeseed greens
and all the other vegetables were so incredibly tasty,
making for a truly satisfying meal.

And oh, the sauce
was absolutely incredible!
It was a wine reduction that
perfectly balanced sweet and tangy notes.
It wasn't overly sour,
and even the mustard
was unique,
offering a different flavor profile
than I'm used to.
Both sauces complemented the steak
and vegetables
absolutely perfectly!

Overall, the room service food
at the Shangri-La Sydney Hotel
was consistently delicious.
If you're planning a trip to the Shangri-La,
you definitely have to give their room service a try.
Highly recommended!
