Here's the Shangri-La Sydney Hotel!

It's a beloved 5-star hotel, cherished for its breathtaking views of both the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge!

Up on the 36th floor, you'll find the ALTITUDE restaurant,

serving exquisite Australian cuisine.

And don't miss BLU Bar on 36,

plus Cafe Mix,

the serene Chi, The Spa,

a fantastic swimming pool, a well-equipped gym, and more to enhance your stay.

When I visited in September, during the off-peak season, it was around ~$245,

but remember, prices can definitely fluctuate!

Location & Address

You'll find it nestled at 176 Cumberland St, The Rocks, Sydney NSW,

right in the charming, historic Circular Quay neighborhood

within The Rocks district.

While the hotel itself is situated on a bit of a hill, which might be a trek for some,

I personally found it quite walkable and enjoyed the stroll.

A pleasant surprise was having a Korean-speaking staff member at the hotel,

which made check-in incredibly smooth and comfortable for me!

Step inside and you'll immediately notice how incredibly spacious the lobby is – it's truly grand!

I actually arrived much earlier than planned,

so I inquired about early check-in.

They let me know they'd send a text if a room became available, which was super convenient!

Room Types

The room I booked was the

Deluxe Harbour Bridge Room,

which was around ~$245 per night – totally worth it for the views!

Rooms like the Deluxe Darling Harbour Room or the

Horizon Darling Harbour Room don't offer views of the Opera House or Harbour Bridge.

Instead, the rooms are generally categorized into those with solely Opera House views,

those with just Harbour Bridge views,

and the coveted Harbour Rooms that offer both the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House together – talk about a panorama!

Inside the room, you'll find a generously sized bathtub and washbasin,

along with a sparkling clean toilet.

The amenities provided are by ELOURA.

And for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash,

they feature John Masters Organics –

a luxurious touch with wonderfully aromatic scents!

When I was looking for a hotel with those iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge views,

I was initially torn between the Four Seasons and Shangri-La Sydney.

Even though I heard Shangri-La was a bit older,

I also read that it felt cleaner,

so I ultimately chose Shangri-La.

Plus, it ended up being a little more budget-friendly – a win-win!

The luggage area? Seriously spacious!

The closet, however, is a tad on the smaller side.

Not only is the bed incredibly generous,

but the entire room itself feels wonderfully expansive.

Seeing the Opera House and Harbour Bridge together like that is absolutely breathtaking!

This view alone is why I chose to stay at Shangri-La Sydney.

Through the massive panoramic window,

the Opera House and Harbour Bridge feel so close you could almost reach out and touch them –

it's truly a moving experience!

While photos never quite do it justice,

trust me, it looks even bigger and more magnificent in person!

And the sunset views? Absolutely stunning!

Suddenly,

fireworks started

outside, and I was so surprised!

Imagine, being able to watch fireworks even from your room!

Being able to soak in such a beautiful view,

witness a magnificent sunset,

and even enjoy a dazzling fireworks show,

all without even having to step outside –

it truly made my stay at

Shangri-La Sydney even more blissful!
