During my Shanghai trip, I absolutely dreamed of staying at a hotel
with a view of the Oriental Pearl Tower! While browsing social media, I stumbled upon a hotel
with a lovely blend of European charm and immediately booked it.

At the time, there weren't many reviews from Korean travelers, so I was really curious
about which room to choose, and what the room & terrace sizes were like. So, this is my personal review after staying there myself!
By the way, there's a discount code available for hotel bookings on "Trip.com," where I made my reservation,
so you can enjoy a slightly lower price. It's valid until September, so if you're planning a trip to Shanghai, make sure to use it quickly~
1. Location

The Oriental Pearl Tower view hotel in Shanghai where I stayed is Z Hotel!
It's not located right around Nanjing Road, where many Shanghai tourists tend to stay, but a little further north.

However, it's just a 10-minute walk to The Bund,
making it a perfectly satisfying location if your trip revolves around exploring The Bund!
I took a Didi taxi from Shanghai Pudong Airport to Z Hotel. It took about 40 minutes in a premium car and cost 173 RMB.
2. Exterior & Check-in

Unlike typical hotels, its European-style exterior was quite impressive,
and the interior felt casual, perfectly hitting that Millennial & Gen Z aesthetic!
Rather than the grandeur of large hotels, it had more of a boutique hotel vibe that's popular with younger travelers.
Indeed, there were many local and foreign guests staying there.

The reception is on the 2nd floor.
Also, the hotel restaurant is located on the 2nd floor, and you can even see the Oriental Pearl Tower from the restaurant's terrace.
So, if the hotel is fully booked, using the restaurant to take photos is also a great option!
3. Detailed Room Review

As soon as you enter the room, you'll find the toilet and sink, with a double-sized bed in the center, and a wall-mounted TV with a shelf underneath on the opposite side!
The space isn't particularly large,
so if you're traveling with big luggage,
it's a good idea to consider the room size beforehand.

However, it felt like the compact space
was utilized as efficiently as possible.
There's a built-in storage cabinet next to the sink,
and the vanity mirror needs to be pulled out to be seen.

Nevertheless, there were disposable amenities like toothpaste and toothbrushes, as well as coffee & a kettle. Plus, the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were from the famous fragrance brand Le Labo.

The toilet flush was unique, and
All you had to do was press the button at the base of the toilet.
I was a bit stumped at first, but it totally worked when I pressed it with my foot! Lol.
It ended up being surprisingly convenient to use! 😉
5. Trip.com Discount Code

I booked my stay through Trip.com!
As it's a Chinese platform, they offer a fantastic range of accommodations,
and you can often snag them at a more budget-friendly price!
If you're dreaming of a room at Z Hotel with a view of the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower,
you'll want to book the "Bund View Terrace Double Bed Room"!

However, if you're hoping for a terrace room with a table and chairs, just like the one I enjoyed,
it's best to request it either at check-in or when making your reservation.
make sure to specifically request a 3rd-floor terrace room in your special requests!!
I was initially assigned a room on the 6th floor,
but the terrace there was super narrow. So, I showed them photos
and requested a change, and they kindly switched my room! Phew! 😉

And here's a hot tip: when you book on Trip.com, use the code 3HAHOTEL5
and you'll get a fabulous 5% discount!
You can use this code up to 10 times per account!!
Honestly, Z Hotel is pretty much built for those Instagram-worthy photos,
so I'd recommend staying there for just one night, and then for other nights,
opt for a hotel with a more spacious room.
