Subway | Take Metro Line 11 to the final stop, Disney Resort Station. From Exit 1 or 4, it's about a 5-10 minute walk to the park entrance. |
Taxi | A taxi from downtown Shanghai typically takes about 30-50 minutes. Taxis will drop you off directly at the Disneyland parking lot. |
Hotel Shuttle Bus | If you're staying at a hotel within the Shanghai Disney Resort, you can utilize their complimentary shuttle service. Many other hotels, even outside the resort, also offer free or paid shuttle buses, so it's worth checking with your accommodation. |

Beyond the common reason of saving money, purchasing tickets on-site can be risky due to daily admission limits. There are instances where on-site ticket sales are completely halted.
Therefore, we highly recommend buying your tickets ahead of time.

As a bonus, if you purchase your tickets in advance, you might receive a discount coupon for certain restaurants within Disneyland, saving you approximately ~$4 per person (based on a 30 CNY discount). I found this incredibly useful!
So, if your Shanghai Disneyland visit is confirmed, I highly recommend taking advantage of early bird purchases to snag those restaurant discount coupons.
Registering for the Shanghai Disneyland App
After purchasing your tickets at a great price, you'll need to register them on the official "Disneyland Shanghai" app. Make sure to download it first!
To sign up, tap on the "Me" icon (Mickey Mouse head) as shown in the first picture. This will take you to the page in the second picture. Select "My Party" to proceed with registration. Unfortunately, I couldn't capture screenshots of the actual registration process, but it's straightforward, primarily requiring phone number verification.
(Because of the phone number verification, it's a good idea to register in advance while you're still in your home country.)
If you're visiting with companions, one person can register everyone's tickets within their app.
Should You Install the Shanghai Disneyland App?

The biggest reasons to install the app are to check ride locations, view real-time wait times for each attraction, and get accurate schedules for the parades and the spectacular ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration fireworks show.

I heard that the early bird restaurant coupons had limited options, which could be inconvenient. However, I was keen to try the Mickey Mala Tang, so the coupon turned out to be incredibly useful for me!
While I wasn't particularly interested in Zootopia beforehand, I found the ride itself to be decent, and the Zootopia-themed zone was absolutely charming and a definite highlight.
