Top Shanghai Souvenirs & Shopping List

Let's dive into some of my top Shanghai souvenir picks!

📍 Egg Rolls
First up on our Shanghai shopping adventure are these delightful Egg Rolls. They're the kind of snack you'll want to stock up on at home! While the original flavor is good, I highly recommend trying the cheese flavor.
Imagine a rich cheese cream filling enveloped by a thin, crispy egg pastry – it's the perfect blend of crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside! Plus, they're individually wrapped, making them super convenient for on-the-go snacking or sharing.

📍 White Rabbit Candy
White Rabbit Candy is a classic for a reason! It's a milky, chewy candy with a delicious condensed milk sweetness that's truly addictive.
I highly recommend the original flavor – its smooth, sweet taste is universally loved, making it an ideal gift for anyone on your list!
The photo also shows the red bean flavor, which is another sweet and delightful option if you're feeling adventurous!

📍 Cassava Chips
Cassava chips are a game-changer! They're thinner than regular potato chips but boast an incredibly satisfying crunch. Once I tried them, I couldn't stop buying them whenever I saw them!
While there are BBQ-flavored cassava chips, I personally find the original flavor to be the most savory and addictive. Look for the red packaging – that's the one to grab!

📍 Taro Chips
Next up are Lay's Taro Chips. While Lay's in China is also famous for its cucumber-flavored potato chips (yes, you read that right!), I personally find the taro chips to be far crunchier and more to my taste than their potato counterparts.
The savory black pepper flavor is particularly addictive – once you open a bag, you'll find yourself finishing it in one sitting!

📍 Corn Chips (Ma-chip)
"Ma-chip" are a type of corn chip, but with a softer texture than what you might be used to. While they might not have the intense savory punch of the cassava or taro chips, their mild, nutty flavor makes them a comforting snack that you'll crave from time to time!

📍 Beer
While many travelers might opt for Baijiu (Chinese liquor) as a souvenir, don't overlook China's fantastic beer scene! Beers here are incredibly affordable, and the variety is vast, making beer shopping a fun experience in itself.
The dark beer on the left, featuring an eagle design, had a delightful coffee-like flavor and was truly delicious. Also, I recommend the wheat beer from RT-Mart's (Da润发) own brand in the middle – it's budget-friendly, smooth, and surprisingly good!

📍 Darlie Toothpaste
Darlie Toothpaste is a staple souvenir I grab every time I visit China. During my latest Shanghai supermarket haul, I even discovered some exciting new varieties!
The grape and peach flavors offer a surprisingly refreshing twist. If you're already a fan of Darlie, or just curious to try something different, these fruity options are definitely worth picking up!

📍 Qingzi Hand Cream
Qingzi Hand Cream is already a well-known item among Shanghai souvenirs, and for good reason! The caps feature illustrations of famous Shanghai landmarks, making them perfect for gifting or for your own use.
There's also a fantastic variety of scents, so you can have fun trying out samples and choosing your favorites. It's truly an enjoyable shopping experience!

What's more, they offer complimentary lettering engraving on the bottom of the hand cream tubes and provide neat packaging, making this hand cream an absolutely perfect gift option!
