1. Holiland Zhengda Plaza (Super Brand Mall) Location in Shanghai
If you're in Shanghai, seeing its famous skyline is an absolute must, right?
I'm excited to share a secret photo spot where you can capture incredible views of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai's most recognizable landmark. Plus, we'll dive into the Holiland Zhengda Plaza (Super Brand Mall) branch, which is right there!
This particular Holiland location, famous for its 'towel cakes,' felt less like a conventional bakery and more like a massive, trendy art gallery, with a futuristic design that reminded me of high-concept dessert cafes in Seoul. It's open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Unlike other Holiland stores, this one boasts a completely different, forward-thinking, and chic atmosphere, building anticipation even before you step inside.

Upon entering, you're greeted by a dazzling array of collaboration products. When I visited, they had an adorable Sailor Moon dacquoise package. The high-quality illustrations brought back so many childhood memories, I couldn't resist and ended up buying four packs!
To one side, you'll also spot a neat display of baby pink Hello Kitty packages, instantly grabbing your attention. These dacquoises are truly delicious. The strawberry chocolate Kitty dacquoise, in particular, is as visually appealing as it is tasty – I highly recommend it!

In another section of the store, geometric desserts are displayed like artworks in a gallery, much like the avant-garde Nudake cafes. Surrounded by aurora-hued metallic objects, these planetary or meteor-shaped desserts made me feel like I was in a chic exhibition space rather than a bakery.
On a two-tiered, mirror-like display stand, there were cakes designed to resemble rocks and icebergs. At first, I thought they were just models, so I was genuinely surprised to learn they were actual, edible cakes! The rough surface texture, mimicking real minerals, was incredibly realistic.

The checkout counter was also quite modern, and they even had descriptions for the Sailor Moon dacquoises.

As I explored the store, I spotted a vibrant red apple-shaped cake. Isn't its stepped surface texture, reminiscent of contour lines or 3D printing, incredibly unique? It's an experimental design that strongly sparks visual curiosity and definitely satisfies the urge to indulge.

Elsewhere, there were cakes realistically depicting snow-capped mountains and icebergs. The gradient from white at the top to a vivid blue at the bottom was truly artistic. It was hard to tell if they were for decoration or sale, but some were indeed marked as available for purchase!

In yet another display, I found elliptical, cosmic-themed desserts blending blues and purples. One side of the smooth, capsule-like form was rough and broken, like a shattered rock, creating a dramatic contrast in texture. The mysterious colors combined with the sophisticated black high-gloss base made for a truly Instagram-worthy visual.

Even though I visited in the evening and some items had already sold out, I still managed to snag Holiland's signature products: the towel cake, dacquoises, fresh chocolates, and cheesecake. I made sure not to miss a single one!
2. Shanghai's Secret Oriental Pearl TV Tower Photo Spot
But the experience doesn't end there! Step out of Holiland and descend just half a flight of stairs, and you'll be face-to-face with the magnificent Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
This spot is a true hidden gem for photos, with far fewer crowds than the Bund, allowing you to leisurely capture stunning solo shots. Plus, you can easily get full-body pictures with the tower in the background!

Visiting in the evening is highly recommended, as you can snap photos against the backdrop of the Oriental Pearl Tower changing colors – truly a magical photo opportunity.
3. The Iconic Shanghai Skyline View
And there's more! If you turn your back to the Oriental Pearl Tower, you'll be greeted by an overwhelming skyline featuring Shanghai's three major skyscrapers all in one glance.
You'll see the spiraling Shanghai Tower dominating the center, with the Jin Mao Tower to its left. Follow the pedestrian bridge a little further down, and you'll get a perfect panoramic view that includes the Shanghai World Financial Center as well.

It's a fantastic spot where you can buy delicious desserts and simultaneously enjoy the Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai's three iconic skyscrapers. What a combo!

After all that shopping and photo-taking, why not unwind with a relaxing massage? Combining your Holiland shopping and photo session with a massage is the perfect way to cap off a day of incredible Shanghai nightlife and views.
I highly recommend ending your day with a massage before heading back to your accommodation.
