As I was preparing for my trip to Shanghai,
one thing that gave me more pause than I expected
was choosing the right accommodation.
So, after searching high and low,
I ended up at a hotel that's apparently the most booked by Koreans,
known as a **great value hotel in Shanghai**.
With a starting price of **around ~$35 per night**,
it offered incredible value,
and the room condition was super clean too!
If you're looking for fantastic value accommodation in Shanghai,
this place is seriously worth checking out!
The Eaton Hotel Shanghai
**Location: 3 minutes from Pudong Avenue Station**
Accessible via Shanghai Metro Lines 4 & 14
Approx. 1-3 minute walk from the hotel to the station
To Oriental Pearl TV Tower / IFC Mall: **15 minutes by subway**
To Shanghai Disneyland: **50 minutes by subway**
I personally took taxis more often than the subway,
and it takes about 30 minutes by taxi to Disneyland.
If you take a taxi, it can drop you off right at the hotel lobby,
which is super convenient!
There's a convenience store next to the lobby on the first floor,
making it easy to grab water or snacks.
What's more, a popular Shanghai restaurant with a notorious wait time,
**Hen Jiu Yi Qian**, is just a 10-minute walk away,
which meant I didn't have to wait too long to eat there!

For a weekday in September, the lowest price is
~$38 per night for two people.
Even with taxes, it's around ~$45,
which is still fantastic value!
Review of a Value-for-Money Shanghai Hotel
I traveled from Shanghai Disneyland
to The Eaton Hotel.
I took a taxi, and it took about 40 minutes.
The taxi fare was 100 Chinese Yuan,
which was approximately ~$14.
**Check-in 2 PM / Check-out 12 PM**
I really appreciated the generous
check-in and check-out times!
There was an English-speaking staff member at the lobby,
so checking in was a breeze.
📌No check-ins after midnight
**Luggage storage is also available after check-out**, which was super helpful.
On my last day, I stored my luggage, went sightseeing around the city,
and then came back to retrieve it before heading to the airport – it made things so convenient!

I booked a Deluxe Twin room,
I booked it for around ~$48 per night,
so I paid a total of ~$97!

First off, there were two spacious beds,
so my sibling and I each got our own bed,
which was great for a good night's sleep separately.
The beds were plush and comfy,
and the bedding was clean and fresh.
I heard there were quite a few disappointing reviews regarding hygiene,
but my room condition was absolutely fantastic.
Aside from feeling a little dated,
everything else was perfectly fine.
The heater control is also inside the room,
and amenities like bathrobes and a safe are decent too!
With Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, minibar, TV, and more,
it lives up to its 4-star rating –
it's spotless and has everything you could need.
There's a small desk in front of the bed,
making it convenient for anyone with urgent work or those visiting for business.
The bathroom is also quite spacious,
with marble interior design,
giving it a clean and luxurious feel.
I didn't use the bathtub separately,
but it's the perfect size for a relaxing half-bath
after a tiring day of travel.
There are 4 bottles of mineral water in the bathroom,
and if you stay for multiple nights, they replenish them daily.
Amenities include a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and body wash,
but there's no conditioner, so you'll need to bring your own!
The city view in the morning was absolutely stunning....
If you request a high floor when booking,
they usually accommodate it.
So, make sure to ask for a high floor when you're making your reservation!
The Eaton Hotel Shanghai also offers breakfast,
and I hear you can use the swimming pool too!
I didn't get to use either of them,
but the breakfast reviews are quite good,
so if you're interested, definitely add breakfast to your stay!
