Shanghai Disneyland Ticket Booking
To enter Shanghai Disneyland, you'll need to secure your tickets in advance.
📍Shanghai Disneyland tickets generally fall into two main categories: Standard Admission and DPA (Disney Premier Access).
Standard admission is your essential entry ticket to Shanghai Disneyland. Depending on when you purchase, tickets are categorized into
'Super Early Bird' and 'Early Bird' options, as shown below.
The sooner you book your Early Bird tickets, the more you save.
As of August 2026, Shanghai Disneyland is even offering 'Super Early Bird' and 'Super Super Early Bird' deals for mid to late August, making them even cheaper than standard early bird prices!
To give you an idea of the savings, we compared prices for a weekday in mid-August.
There can be a difference of around ~$14 between a standard ticket and a Super Super Early Bird ticket, so if your travel dates are set,
❗️we highly recommend booking as early as possible.

Following your main admission ticket, let's talk about DPA, or Disney Premier Access.
DPA tickets allow you to bypass the regular queues and enter through a dedicated DPA line for priority boarding on select attractions.
DPA significantly cuts down wait times, making it a fantastic option for families with young children, or anyone visiting during the hot summer months or chilly winter season.
You can refer to the image above for the DPA options currently available.
While you can customize your DPA selection, we personally recommend choosing a package that includes Zootopia, as it's the crown jewel of Shanghai Disneyland.
(The Zootopia land is exclusive to Shanghai Disneyland, making it incredibly popular!)
However, be aware that while DPA is incredibly effective at reducing wait times, its convenience comes with a substantial price tag.
Now, let's get into our firsthand experience riding attractions at Shanghai Disneyland without DPA.
We visited on a weekend, but it wasn't during a major holiday peak, so we decided to forgo DPA. In hindsight, we definitely regretted that decision.
First, we headed to Tron Lightcycle Power Run, second only to Zootopia in popularity.
The queue for Tron was absolutely massive!
We waited for over an hour for just one ride, which left us tired and quite bored.
Observing families with kids around us, seeing the little ones getting restless and exhausted, really solidified our thought: DPA is an absolute must-have if you're bringing children.
Next, we made our way to Zootopia, the park's most sought-after attraction.
The regular standby line was showing wait times of 90 minutes or more – there was no way we were going to brave that!
As a workaround, we opted for the slightly shorter single rider line, but even that took nearly 50 minutes before we could board.
If we had purchased DPA tickets, we could have zipped onto the Zootopia attraction much faster, leaving us more time to explore, take photos, and truly immerse ourselves in the magic of the park.
And remember, we didn't even visit during the scorching summer or freezing winter! Standing in line for 1-2 hours was genuinely exhausting and draining.
To make your Shanghai Disneyland experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, we highly recommend booking DPA along with your admission tickets.
(Seriously, if you're traveling with kids, getting DPA will dramatically enhance the quality of your trip, no questions asked!)
So, take our advice on admission tickets and DPA booking, and secure your entry in advance.
The earlier you book, the more you save, so if your dates are firm, grab those tickets now!
