Shanghai Disneyland Ticket Booking,

Is the basic ticket enough?

If you're focused on exploring the park and enjoying the general queues,

a basic ticket can be perfect for planning your day.

When I visited with my child,

I tried both the 6-item Carefree DPA and

the Zootopia + Winnie the Pooh 2-item DPA.

What really mattered wasn't maximizing the number of rides,

but rather what our family would genuinely use.

1. Shanghai Disneyland: Is a Basic Admission Ticket Enough?

If you love taking photos, exploring themed areas,

and enjoying rides according to wait times,

start by looking into the basic admission ticket.

However, priority access to popular attractions

is not included with the basic ticket.

For me, Zootopia was the main reason for my visit,

and I didn't want to spend too much time waiting in long lines with my child.

That's why I opted for DPA.

(Note: When using DPA for the Zootopia attraction,

you'll quickly pass through the interior queue area.)

DPA stands for Disney Premier Access,

a paid benefit that allows you to use a dedicated lane for selected attractions.

Rather than focusing on the number of attractions, first check if the ones you truly want to ride

are included.​

2. The 6-Item Carefree DPA: My Experience

The attractions I rode that day were

Zootopia, Pirates of the Caribbean,

and Woody's Round-Up — just three.

Between resting according to my child's condition,

making sure we had meal times,

and enjoying the parades and fireworks,

and exploring the souvenir shops and the park itself,

the day flew by.

Initially, I thought we'd ride about six attractions.

But looking at the remaining ones,

I started to feel the pressure, 'Shouldn't I ride them all to get my money's worth?'

Even with DPA to reduce wait times,

you still need time for moving around and resting.

While it's great for those who want to actively enjoy multiple attractions, including Zootopia,

if you're on a schedule with a child and want to see shows as well,

riding all six might be challenging.

3. My Recommended Combination: Zootopia + Winnie the Pooh 2-Item DPA

On another visit, I chose the Zootopia and

Winnie the Pooh bundled 2-item DPA.

After enjoying those two,

I could spend the rest of my time more comfortably.

Additionally, I purchased a single DPA for TRON,

which I really wanted to ride.

(Single DPA purchase: 180 yuan)

This approach of adding only what I needed, without the pressure to ride all six,

worked out perfectly for me.

When I used it,

the cost was also less burdensome.

If Zootopia is your main goal,

and you also want to enjoy the sights and shows,

I highly recommend the 2-attraction DPA.

However, if you're adding several individual items,

be sure to compare the bundle options with the total cost.

You should also check if same-day additional purchases are available

and the remaining quantity.
