Where to buy Shanghai Disneyland tickets at the cheapest price
Hey everyone!
I'm Nihao Liliri, a travel blogger specializing in the Greater China region.
Although this was my 1n-th time visiting Shanghai,
this was actually my very first time visiting Disneyland there.
That's why I prepared even harder!
As a slightly efficiency-obsessed ESTJ,
I've mapped out everything from routing and insider tips to honest reviews 😆
What you'll find in this post: ✔️ How to get to Shanghai Disneyland & Ticket info ✔️ Entry tips & Merchandise route ✔️ Honest reviews of rides & the parade ✔️ Dining options & Insider tips |
How to Get to Shanghai Disneyland & Ticket Info
Shanghai Disneyland is located in Pudong,
and there are two ways to get there.
1) Metro
Line 11 Disney Resort Station → Approx. 1 hour from Nanjing East Road
2) Taxi
→ Approx. 30 mins / ~$16
👉 Since you'll be walking all day, to save your energy,
I highly recommend taking a taxi!
You can purchase tickets on
Klook, KKday, or MyRealTrip.
I compared them all,
and Klook was definitely the cheapest 👍🏻

The higher the total, the bigger the discount,
so I recommend buying your group's tickets together!
Shanghai Disneyland Entry & Merch Route
As you approach the entrance, you'll see a Disney Store first.
While there are plenty of shops inside as well,
some items are only sold outside,
so it’s a good idea to have a quick look before heading in.

✔️ Entry Tip
Rushing for rope drop ❌
Unless you have the stamina of an Olympic athlete,
I highly recommend entering around 2:00 PM.
I visited on a very cloudy day, so the wait time to enter
wasn't too long.
Still, they make you walk through a massive winding queue just to get in...
so make sure your energy levels are fully charged before you go!

✔️ Recommended Route
Once you enter, the standard way is to make a big loop starting from the left.
✔️ My Actual Route
Parade → TRON → Toy Story Land → Zootopia
→ Sunset at Disney Castle → Pirates of the Caribbean → Soaring
→ Zootopia at Night → Illumination Show
Since the parade is around 2:00 PM, if you time your entry right,
it works out perfectly! ↓↓↓

👉 What to do as soon as you enter: Head straight to TRON or Soaring.

Rides & Parade Reviews
✨️Must-Ride Attractions at Shanghai Disneyland✨️
TRON / Zootopia / Pirates of the Caribbean / Soaring Over the Horizon
I got super lucky (well, technically due to some rainy weather!)
and managed to get on 8 different rides,
but if you walk in and find it absolutely packed...
make sure you prioritize these top 4 at all costs!!!
✔️ TRON
This is hands down the most thrilling ride in the park.
Since it's pretty close to the entrance, I highly recommend dashing straight here as soon as you enter!

✔️ Pirates of the Caribbean
Just like the Zootopia ride, it’s a brilliant mix of immersive screens and physical ride mechanics.
The level of detail is incredible, making it extremely satisfying!

✔️ Zootopia
Since this attraction is exclusive to Shanghai Disneyland,
it is an absolute MUST-VISIT!!!
The entire themed land is beautifully crafted with so much to see,
making it my absolute favorite part of the park.
I highly recommend experiencing Zootopia during both the day and the night!

✔️ Soaring Over the Horizon
It feels a bit like the Las Vegas Sphere!
It’s a 4D ride that makes you feel like you're gliding in a hot air balloon.
The experience time is quite long, which means wait times can build up quickly.
Since it's very screen-focused, opinions are a bit split,
but it's still fantastic to ride with kids!
✔️ The Parade
The parade starts around 2:00 PM,
so it's a good idea to plan your entry around this time.
If you catch it from right in front of the Disney Castle,
you can capture the castle and the parade together in one perfect shot!
✔️ Toy Story Mini-Parade
This started around 3:50 PM and was definitely worth a watch.

✨️ Illumination
This is the absolute highlight of Shanghai Disneyland!
You absolutely cannot leave without seeing it!

⚠️
Things to keep in mind
During this time, the pathways cutting through the castle are blocked.
Since everyone is moving in the same direction, it gets incredibly crowded. Make sure to give yourself plenty of travel time!

Shanghai Disneyland Dining & Pro-Tips
This is surprisingly one of the most important parts of planning a Disney trip.
👉 If you just walk into any random place, you might end up disappointed!
Recommended Restaurants
✔ Pinocchio Village Kitchen
→ Located near the Disney Castle
→ The safest and most reliable option
✔ Mickey & Pals Market Cafe
→ Mickey-shaped Malatang
→ Located in front of the carousel to the right of the Disney Castle
✔ Quick Bites
→ Hot dogs, chicken, etc.
→ Perfect for snacking on while waiting for the parade
👉 It's best to grab your meals slightly ahead of peak dining hours.
Top Visiting Tips
✔️ Comfortable sneakers are a must (you’ll easily clock over 20,000 steps!)
✔️ Pack some soothing leg patches (like LION Kyusoku Jikan)
✔️ Portable power bank is absolutely essential
✔️ Outside water and snacks are allowed
✔️ Selfie sticks are strictly prohibited
✔️ If rides are your main focus, head to them during the parade!
👉 Wait times drop drastically during parade hours.
✔️ Taxi Tip
👉 Instead of the designated stand, walk slightly further out to the main street
to hail one. It's much easier!
Where to buy Shanghai Disneyland tickets at the cheapest price
The bigger your total, the larger the discount,
so I highly recommend buying your group's tickets all together!
Even though I've visited Shanghai multiple times,
I had never actually been to Disneyland before.
But after this trip, I realized it's an absolute must-visit!
Especially
Zootopia + The Parade + The Illumination Show
Just making sure you experience these three
will completely take your trip to the next level! 😆
