Shanghai Disneyland Guide 2026: DPA, Tickets & Zootopia
Maximize your Shanghai Disneyland trip with our 2026 guide! Learn how to score ticket discounts and why the DPA pass is essential for Tron and Zootopia.

Shanghai Disneyland is pure, unadulterated joy.
Beyond the thrilling rides, there's just something incredibly
heartwarming and magical about this place.
And honestly, you don't even need to be a die-hard Disney fan to feel it!
If you're planning a trip, you're probably wondering: How do I buy tickets?
Are there any hidden discounts?
And is the Disney Premier Access (DPA) actually worth the money?
Let's dive into all of that together.
Shanghai Disneyland Basics
Getting there: A Didi (rideshare) from Nanjing East Road costs about ~$15.
Operating Hours: 8:30 AM - 9:30 PM

Ticket options come in 1-Day, 1.5-Day, and 2-Day passes.
For most travelers, the 1-Day pass is the go-to choice.
Speaking from experience, one full day is usually enough!
However, if you're traveling with kids and making Disney the main event of your trip,
the 1.5-Day pass is a fantastic option to pace yourselves.
1-Day Pass: ~$74 and up
1.5-Day Pass: ~$111 and up
2-Day Pass: ~$117 and up
- The 1.5-Day pass allows entry after 3:00 PM on your first day.
- Pro tip: Book at least 10 days in advance for early-bird pricing!

🔗 Get Shanghai Disneyland Tickets (Klook)

If you're booking on Klook, don't forget to apply the discount code!
I'll leave the codes in the comments below so you can easily copy and paste them. :)

When you check the booking page, you'll see they also sell Meal Vouchers.
For 119 RMB (roughly ~$19), it's a steal.
You can save about ~$11 compared to buying food out of pocket, so I highly recommend it if you plan to eat in the park!
Also, if you're traveling as a family,
look out for the Adult + Child combo tickets—they can save you an extra ~$15 to ~$23!
✔️ Child age policy: 3 to 11 years old.

Alright, that covers the basic admission tickets!
You can absolutely have a great time with just a standard ticket.
However, with Shanghai travel booming right now,
wait times are getting longer.
You really need to ask yourself: Do I want to spend half my day standing in line?
To cut down on those massive lines, you need Disney Premier Access (DPA).
Let's look at how it works and my honest review of the DPA 6 package.

From my experience, the longest lines were for Tron, Zootopia, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
High popularity means they are incredibly fun,
and Tron... wow, it is absolutely mind-blowing.
I would fly back to Shanghai just to ride Tron again... 🥹
But everyone else feels the same way, so the queues are insane. ^^

Honestly, the standby line for Zootopia: Hot Pursuit is so incredibly themed and immersive
that the wait time feels much shorter than it actually is.
Of course, it still drains your energy and time.
(It was so cute and fun that I rode it once with DPA and once in the standby line!)

Personally, I HIGHLY recommend buying DPA ❗️
Shanghai Disneyland is massive.
Just walking around the park is physically exhausting—that's a fact.
So, which DPA package should you choose?
Get one that includes Zootopia or Tron.
The other packages might not feel like they give you your money's worth.

Having Zootopia included is great,
but if the price is a bit steep, a package that just includes Tron is a solid alternative.
Like I mentioned, the Zootopia standby queue is
entertaining enough that it's less fatiguing to wait for.
However, knowing my own stamina levels,
I opted to arrive a bit later in the day and bought a DPA package
that included BOTH Tron and Zootopia.
Even with the DPA 6 package, I was so wiped out by the end that I missed the fireworks...

Here is a quick breakdown based on what Klook offers:
DPA Including Tron
DPA 3 Adventure Set A: + Roaring Rapids, Buzz Lightyear
DPA Including Zootopia
DPA 6 Carefree
DPA Including BOTH
1) DPA 6 Adventure: + Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Tron included
(🌟 Very Popular!)
2) DPA 8
The most popular choice: DPA 6 Adventure + 1-Day Ticket Combo
Price: ~$207 and up

I personally purchased the DPA 6 Adventure.
I just wanted to experience as much as possible with minimal stress.
And of course, it was mostly because it included both Tron and Zootopia!

If you want to see exactly what each package includes, click the package info on the site.
It breaks everything down perfectly, and you can book right there! 🙋♀️

Shanghai Disneyland Tickets - Klook

Tron: Absolute masterpiece.
Zootopia: Immersive, fun, and adorable.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Visually stunning, features a short backward drop.
Buzz Lightyear: Laser tag game, gets surprisingly competitive.
Mine Train: Didn't expect much, but it was surprisingly thrilling!
My Shanghai Disneyland Experience & Tips

Based on a Monday afternoon in the off-season, popular attractions
had about a 50 to 75-minute wait.
Armed with our DPA, we entered around 3:00 PM and left around 8:30 PM.
(Keep in mind, crowds start picking up significantly from March onwards!)

Be prepared: it is quite a long walk from the taxi drop-off to the actual park entrance.
It was raining on the day we went, but thankfully they sell ponchos right outside.
Because we bought our tickets on Klook, we didn't need to exchange anything for a physical ticket.
We just scanned our QR code at the gate and walked right in! :)

We downloaded the Shanghai Disney Resort app
and registered our tickets beforehand.
I was initially worried, thinking, "How do I link my DPA?"
But shortly after entering the park, I checked the app and saw it was linked automatically! '-'
When it's time to ride, you just walk into the dedicated DPA lane,
scan your app, and you're good to go!
Just make sure you pull up the specific QR code for that attraction.

Having DPA is a game-changer...
The standby wait for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was 75 minutes.
Our wait time? 5 minutes.
Sometimes at other theme parks, you buy an express pass and still end up waiting a while.
At Shanghai Disney, I never once felt like my money was wasted. '-'

Honestly... if you have superhero stamina, you might feel like DPA 8 is unnecessary.
But for two women in our 30s... even using the fast lanes for everything,
we were absolutely drained by the time we left.
To be fair, the rainy weather probably sapped our energy even faster.
If you want to ride Zootopia without the hassle, you need package 6 or 8.
And as I keep saying, I highly recommend getting a package that includes Tron! 💫

Shanghai Disneyland was an unforgettable experience.
I focused this guide mostly on how to buy tickets and DPA because it can be a bit confusing,
but there are so many magical moments I couldn't even fit into this post.
It is just so much fun... and seriously, Tron is the best! Haha.
I know the price tag might make you hesitate,
but I cannot recommend the DPA enough!
Don't forget to grab the discount codes from the comments. If they run out, I'll update
them with new ones! :)
