Shanghai's Newest Hotel Gem

When planning a trip to Shanghai, many travelers initially consider staying near Nanjing East Road. While it's a popular choice, I've found that many hotels there tend to be older, and the area can get incredibly crowded.

That's why this time, I sought out a modern, reputable **brand hotel**. I ended up staying at **Atwell Suites Shanghai Wuning by IHG**, a fresh lifestyle brand from **IHG**. As a newly opened property, everything felt impeccably clean and new, which was a huge plus.

A quick tip for Didi Taxi users: the Atwell Suites might show up as **'Wuning Zhuge Hotel'** in the app. Don't be confused by the different name!

Currently, you can book rooms starting around **~$76 per night, including breakfast**. I even found rates as low as **~$60 per person** for bookings.

Hotel Location

The location was truly fantastic. It's just a short walk, about **0.2 miles**, from Zhongning Road Station (Line 14), making it incredibly convenient.

Getting to Hongqiao Airport and the high-speed rail station took only about 30 minutes. Major tourist spots like Suzhou Creek, Wukang Road, and Xintiandi were also easily accessible, just about a 30-minute taxi ride away.

Double Standard City View Room

The room itself, a Double Standard City View, was spacious and immaculate, from the bed to the desk and shower.

I absolutely adored the clean yet charming interior design!

The smart touch panel and XiaoDu AI assistant made everything incredibly convenient. Slippers, bathrobes, and amenities were also well-stocked.

What really impressed me was the ability to check the laundry room's status directly from my room. No need to venture out just to see if a machine was free!

And just look at how much space there is! Even with two large suitcases open, there was plenty of room to move around. It's absolutely amazing!

Hotel Facilities

The hotel facilities were equally impressive. The 「Fangyan」 lifestyle retail space in the lobby was fun to browse,

and they even offered welcome fruit and craft beer. The B.N.B cafe on the first floor, with its stylish sofas and decor, was a perfect spot to relax.

Breakfast

But honestly, the best part was the breakfast!

You get to enjoy your meal with a stunning 28th-floor view,

and even arriving at 8 AM, it was still pleasantly uncrowded!

Plus, with a delicious spread including Shanghai butter cake, a noodle station, beef noodle soup, wontons, and more,

the blend of Western and Chinese cuisine was absolutely perfect! If you stay here, you simply MUST add breakfast to your booking! ❤️

And then there's the late-night snack service! ❤️ This hotel offers robot delivery. If you use the Meituan app for food delivery, just specify "robot delivery" in the instructions, and...

...a robot will deliver your food right to your door! I truly felt like I experienced everything I wanted to in Shanghai right from this hotel!

Being a new hotel, the facilities are pristine and the service is excellent, yet the price is incredibly reasonable, offering outstanding value.

I stayed for around **~$76 per night**, which was an incredible value!
