If this is your first time visiting Shanghai,
you might be wondering which attractions to include in your travel plans.
As a frequent visitor to Shanghai,
I'll introduce you to the most fulfilling 3-night, 4-day travel itinerary.
Plus, I've packed in some fantastic tips,
so make sure to check them out below!

This is a packed 3-night, 4-day trip that includes two days of city sightseeing, as well as nearby Disneyland and Wuzhen Water Town.
I'll go into more detail about the itinerary below!
Before I dive into the Shanghai 3-night, 4-day itinerary,
if you haven't settled on your Shanghai city accommodation yet,
I'd highly recommend the Jinjiang Metropolo Classiq Nanjing Road Hotel!

for visiting The Bund and nearby shopping malls.
Plus, the value for money, considering the room quality, is outstanding.
What's more, depending on your room's location, you might even get a Shanghai Tower view or
a Pearl TV Tower view – which I thought was absolutely fantastic!
I traveled with my parents, and both of them were incredibly satisfied with the accommodation.

Next, I'll share the detailed 3-night, 4-day itinerary and course with you.
Day 1
Arrive at Shanghai Airport → Yu Garden →
Huangpu River Cruise → The Bund Night View
On the first day, we arrived at Shanghai Airport by morning flight
and headed straight to check into our accommodation.
Since it was before check-in time, we stored our luggage first
and checked in later.
Yu Garden is a traditional garden where you can experience the most authentic Chinese charm in Shanghai city,
making it one of Shanghai's must-visit destinations.
Yu Garden is beautiful both day and night.
By day, you can explore the traditional Chinese garden, and as dusk falls,
you can enjoy a night view that reveals a completely different charm.
Next, you can take a Huangpu River cruise
to admire Shanghai's spectacular night view.
Cruising for about 50 minutes,
you can enjoy the spectacular night views of Pudong and Puxi all at once,
making it an incredibly satisfying attraction!

After soaking in the magic of the Huangpu River cruise,
make your way to The Bund to experience its dazzling night views up close.
(Keep in mind that The Bund's stunning night lights usually dim around 10 PM, so plan accordingly!)
With its grand, European-style buildings, you might just forget you're in China!
Every photo you snap here is guaranteed to be a masterpiece.
In fact, there are many local photographers skilled in Chinese Photoshop techniques,
so why not try a fun photoshoot? It could be a unique and memorable experience!
(You might be pleasantly surprised by the amazing results!)
Day 2
Nanjing Road East → Shanghai Disneyland
Day 2 is all about diving headfirst into a world of childlike wonder at
Shanghai Disneyland!
The fireworks display is arguably the biggest highlight at Shanghai Disneyland,
and since you'll want to stay for the entire day to catch it,
I wouldn't necessarily recommend rushing for an 'open run' (arriving right at opening).
Instead, I recommend taking a leisurely morning stroll along Nanjing Road East
before heading to Shanghai Disneyland around lunchtime.

Day 3
Supermarket Shopping → Wuzhen Water Town
For Day 3, I've designed an itinerary that takes you on a charming excursion just outside Shanghai.
Since the Wuzhen Water Town tour typically kicks off in the afternoon,
the morning is perfect for some light souvenir shopping at a local supermarket like Carrefour.
The Wuzhen Water Town bus tour I experienced
runs from 12 PM until evening, allowing you to enjoy a full day of travel
even after a morning activity, just like I did.
It's a fantastic way to make the most of your day!
Wuzhen Water Town is a picturesque destination where canals meander through the village,
offering a glimpse into traditional Chinese village life that you might not have encountered before.
The serene canals, lined with beautiful traditional Chinese architecture,
create an undeniably charming and atmospheric setting.
I personally believe this is an absolute must-visit!

Day 4
Lujiazui → Shanghai Tower Observatory
Airport → Departure
On the final day, since we need to head to the airport in the afternoon,
I've crafted a short but sweet morning itinerary.
While there are many options, I personally recommend
heading to Lujiazui and going up to the Shanghai Tower Observatory.

Once you go up to the Shanghai Tower Observatory,
you can take in the magnificent Shanghai city view,
including the Oriental Pearl Tower, all at once!
If you're short on time,
visiting the Former French Concession (Shanghai Provisional Government Site),
and stopping by a café in Xintiandi for
a cup of coffee would also be a great plan!
If this is your first time visiting Shanghai,
following the 3-night, 4-day Shanghai itinerary I've shared
will guarantee you an incredibly fulfilling trip.
Especially the Shanghai Disneyland and Wuzhen Water Town tours
are places that personally left a lasting impression on me,
so I highly recommend you visit them at least once!
For a 3-night, 4-day trip to Shanghai, the Jinjiang Metropolo Classic Nanjing Road Hotel is highly recommended. This hotel is centrally located on East Nanjing Road, making it easy to visit The Bund or nearby shopping malls. It offers excellent value for money considering the room quality. Some rooms even offer views of the Shanghai Tower or the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
The Huangpu River cruise takes approximately 50 minutes, allowing you to enjoy the night views of both Pudong and Puxi at a glance. After the cruise, you can move to The Bund to admire the nightscape, but please note that The Bund's night lights operate only until 10 PM.
Since the fireworks are the highlight at Shanghai Disneyland, it's best to consider visiting around lunchtime to spend the entire day there. The Wuzhen Water Town bus tour runs from 12 PM until evening, so if you do some shopping at a RT-Mart in the morning before joining, you can make the most of your entire day.
On the morning of Day 4, you can head to Lujiazui to ascend the Shanghai Tower Observatory and enjoy a panoramic view of Shanghai. If you don't have much time, you could also consider visiting the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai or stopping by a cafe in Xintiandi for a cup of coffee.
