On my recent trip to Shanghai, I stumbled upon a truly unique cafe called "13 de marzo" in Xintiandi. This place is famous for a delightful reason: you get an adorable teddy bear plushie with every drink you order!

After experiencing it firsthand, I can confidently say the bears are as cute as they look, and the drinks were surprisingly satisfying. It's a spot I absolutely had to share with you all!

🐻 Why I Recommend 13 de marzo, Shanghai's Unique Teddy Bear Cafe

✔︎ You get an adorable teddy bear plushie just by ordering a drink.

✔︎ The Oat Milk Latte and Hot Cocoa were surprisingly delicious, exceeding expectations for a cafe known for its novelty.

✔︎ (Based on the old Xintiandi branch) It had shorter wait times compared to the popular Anfu Road location.

I visited this spot earlier this year, in January 2026, and never imagined the old Xintiandi branch would relocate! I kept delaying my post, and here we are, writing it after the new branch has already reopened. Oh, the irony!🤣

The old Xintiandi branch was quite small, primarily focused on takeout. When you arrived, you'd often see a clothing store first, which could be a bit confusing. I even took pictures to tell everyone, "Don't panic! The cafe is right next door!" But now, that advice is for the past. This is why you need to be prompt with your travel blogging!

Even though the old cafe was small, it had a clear coffee-themed signboard that made it easy to spot.

At the counter, drinks adorned with cute teddy bears were on display, and just seeing them filled me with excitement.❤️

Just seeing the bears in their container made me happy, confirming that my taxi ride was well worth it.

13 de marzo Menu Highlights

There was a menu board with pictures and names, which usually helps with ordering! However,

since you'll be ordering via QR code, it might be easier to take your time browsing the digital menu rather than trying to take it all in at a glance. Haha.

Interestingly, while exploring, I noticed that the 13 de marzo Xintiandi branch also accepted Kakao Pay! Upon checking, the Anfu Road branch also accepts Kakao Pay. So, it's highly likely the newly reopened Xintiandi branch will too, but I recommend double-checking for the latest information before your visit, just in case.

For reference, I ordered an Oat Milk Latte (34 CNY), and my sister got a Black Bear Hot Cocoa (33 CNY), totaling 67 CNY (approximately ~$10 for the 13,000 KRW equivalent). If you only consider the price of the coffee, it might seem a bit steep, but considering you get a drink AND a cute teddy bear plushie, I thought it was a pretty reasonable deal!

Honestly, if the price includes a teddy bear, I wouldn't complain even if the quality wasn't superb. But when you see them in person, they are incredibly cute, and while not super high-end, the quality is surprisingly decent! That's why I was so keen to recommend this place.

The teddy bears and drinks make for fantastic photo opportunities. You can arrange them in various cute poses or simply snap a selfie holding your new plushie and coffee. Haha!

For a cafe that gives out teddy bears, I honestly didn't expect much from the drinks themselves, thinking the novelty was the main draw.

However, my Oat Milk Latte was surprisingly flavorful and delicious, and my sister's Black Bear Hot Cocoa was rich and tasty too.

So, if you're looking to enjoy a good cup of coffee and get a cute teddy bear to boot, 13 de marzo is definitely a cafe you should check out!

The Anfu Road branch, often paired with a visit to Wukang Mansion, is famous for its long queues. I specifically chose the Xintiandi branch to avoid waiting. Now that it has reopened after relocation, I recommend checking recent reviews for current wait times before you visit.
