Sanwant Residence Taipei Review 2026: Quiet Luxury in Zhongshan
Searching for a tranquil yet convenient 5-star hotel in Taipei? The Sanwant Residence in Zhongshan District offers pristine rooms, a relaxing bathtub, and easy access to the city.

When choosing your Taipei accommodation,
if you're only thinking about location, your first thought might be the Main Station area, right?
But if a tranquil room and pristine conditions are high on your list,
then Sanwant Residence is definitely worth checking out!
I was in Taipei for a business trip,
and while searching for a hotel that offered both convenient transportation and a peaceful atmosphere,
I ended up booking Sanwant Residence Taipei.
Its location in the Zhongshan District made getting around a breeze,
and the in-room bathtub and tranquil ambiance
were particularly what I fell in love with about this place!
Location
From the airport: Approximately 40 minutes by car
MRT Zhongshan Station: Approximately 10 minutes walk
Linshen Park: Approximately 2 minutes walk
While the hotel isn't directly in front of the station,
the journey there isn't complicated at all,
so you'll find it easily even on your very first visit.
I opted for a taxi from the airport.
With luggage in tow, a taxi or airport pickup can be more convenient than the MRT.
My Sanwant Residence Review
Check-in 15:00
Check-out 12:00

Sanwant Residence is a unique boutique hotel,
and here's a fun fact: it's part of the
Want Want brand, famously known for its rice crackers!
I found it quite intriguing that a snack brand operates a hotel of this caliber.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the very first thing I noticed was
its overall tranquil and serene atmosphere.
The staff were incredibly friendly,
and the hotel itself was immaculately maintained with a classic, refined feel.
In case you were wondering, this is indeed a 5-star hotel!

The room I booked was the Double Studio.
Spanning approximately 30㎡, the room felt surprisingly spacious and airy.
I could easily spread out my luggage without feeling cramped,
and with a dedicated desk, it was absolutely perfect for getting some work done.
Many modern hotels often lack proper desks or have
only tiny tables,
so I always make sure to check for this feature when I'm on a business trip.

The bedding was spotless,
and the subtle lighting made the place feel so cozy.
The soundproofing was excellent, perfect for resting after a busy day.

What I loved most here was the bathtub!
It looked like a Japanese-style half-bath tub,
and it was perfect for unwinding after a full day of exploring.
Even though it's a bit of a walk from Zhongshan Station,
this bathtub alone, which melted away the day's fatigue,
was enough reason to choose this place.
If you prefer a room where you can enjoy a half-bath
over a hotel that only offers showers,
this place is absolutely perfect for you!

There was plenty of space around the sink to put personal items,
and amenities and a hairdryer were provided.
The hairdryer being Dyson was a fantastic touch!

If you're traveling alone for business or staying as a pair,
the Double Studio is spacious enough.
If you're traveling with parents or simply desire a larger room,
definitely check out the Double Suite!
*While the name 'Residence' might lead you to expect a long-term stay with a kitchen,
please note that this establishment is closer to a standard hotel.
Price & Booking
I booked it on Trip.com at the time for around ~$110 per night.
✔ A night usually costs between ~$104 and ~$138.
Friday Check-in Price Comparison
Trip.com | Agoda |
~$138~ | ~$124~ |
*Prices may vary depending on dates, room type, membership level, etc.
On the dates I checked, Agoda was about ~$14 cheaper,
but the free cancellation dates...
Trip.com tends to be a bit more flexible.
When you're making a reservation, don't just eye the room rate.
I highly recommend comparing whether breakfast is included and, crucially, the free cancellation deadline
before you click that 'book' button!
Especially if there's a high chance your schedule might change, like for a business trip,
the free cancellation deadline could be far more important than a mere ~$14 price difference.
On the flip side, if your travel itinerary is set in stone
and there's virtually no chance of cancellation,
then snagging the lowest price is definitely the way to go!
Breakfast
I decided to book without including breakfast.
From what I hear, it features both Western and Taiwanese menu options,
and plenty of reviews boast about how satisfied guests were with it!
If you're someone who loves to kickstart their day with a hearty meal before diving into your travel plans,
then booking with breakfast included could be a fantastic choice!
For travelers seeking a quiet and comfortable haven,
whether you're journeying with your parents or
simply prefer a serene hotel for a business trip,
definitely give San Want Residences a look!
It might not be right next to the station,
nor is it the most ultra-modern place,
but if a tranquil atmosphere, excellent room condition,
and exceptionally friendly service are high on your priority list,
then it's absolutely worth considering!
