Ryuise Coffee Bar Busan: Cozy Nampodong Cafe Guide
Escape the bustle of Jagalchi with a visit to Ryuise Coffee Bar in Nampodong, Busan. Discover hand-drip coffee, unique persimmon desserts, and a cozy workspace.
If you're searching for a cozy, atmospheric cafe in the heart of Busan's Nampodong district, I've found the perfect spot. It's called Ryuise Coffee Bar. For anyone looking to quietly read a book, get some laptop work done, or simply escape the crowds, this is hands-down one of the best cafes in the area.
The bustling streets around Jagalchi Station are usually packed with tourists and high energy, making it quite a challenge to find a peaceful sanctuary. Finding this quiet haven felt like discovering a true hidden gem. It perfectly matches the laid-back, aesthetic vibe I love when traveling.

How to Get There & Parking Tips

Ryuise Coffee Bar is incredibly accessible. It is just a quick 5-minute walk (about 0.2 miles) from either Nampo Station (Exit 1) or Jagalchi Station (Exit 7). You'll find it on the 5th floor of a building located right near the famous BIFF Square seed hotteok stands. This area is a staple of my Busan itineraries, surrounded by iconic spots like Bupyeong Kkangtong Market, Gukje Market, and the historic Bosu-dong Book Street—perfect for a full day of exploring.
Since street parking is highly limited in this busy neighborhood, driving isn't recommended. If you do bring a car, you'll need to use nearby paid parking lots such as Phoenix Parking, Hi-Parking BIFF Square Branch, or the Gwangbok-ro Bupyeong-dong street public parking zones.
The Cozy Interior

Stepping inside, it becomes immediately clear why this place is styled as a "coffee bar" rather than a standard cafe. Their specialty is hand-drip coffee. If you are a specialty coffee enthusiast who appreciates the art of a slow pour-over, this is an absolute must-visit spot in Busan.

The space features curated bookshelves and is designed for quiet, mindful moments. While low-volume conversations are perfectly fine, the layout and atmosphere are ideally suited for solo travelers or small groups of two rather than large, noisy gatherings.

Mellow, ambient music drifts through the air, creating an incredibly relaxing environment. During the day, it operates as a serene coffee sanctuary. As evening falls, the vibe shifts beautifully, allowing guests to wind down with a curated selection of fine whiskies.
The Menu: Coffee & Unique Treats

Taking a look at the menu, their hand-drip single-origin coffees take center stage. While those look incredible, I decided to stick to my comfort zone and ordered a classic hot cafe latte alongside a very unique local dessert: dried persimmon topped with fresh whipped cream and roasted pecans.
Another highly recommended menu item is their Granita—a refreshing, Sicilian-style shaved ice dessert that is perfect for cooling down on warmer days.

A huge bonus for late-afternoon visitors: unlike many cafes that charge extra for decaffeinated beans, Ryuise Coffee Bar offers decaf substitutions at no additional cost!

If you fall in love with their brews, you can also purchase bags of their specialty roasted coffee beans to enjoy at home.

There is an undeniable sense of craftsmanship here. The space feels deeply established, carrying the warmth of a spot that has perfected its craft over time.

My beautifully poured cafe latte and dessert arrived. Since my visit was during the winter of 2025, a steaming cup of hot coffee was exactly what I needed to warm up from the cold coastal breeze.

I don't usually order desserts with my coffee, but something about the unique combination of traditional Korean dried persimmon with rich cream and nutty pecans felt impossible to resist. It ended up being an incredible pairing with the rich, velvety espresso.

The cafe politely requests that visitors keep their voices low to maintain a peaceful environment for reading and working. It felt incredibly comfortable, and I never felt rushed even after spending a couple of hours relaxing here.

They also provide free, reliable Wi-Fi, making it a highly productive spot for digital nomads and remote workers looking to get some tasks done.

Ryuise Coffee Bar in Nampodong is a true sanctuary for those who value great music, specialty coffee, and a quiet space to recharge. If you're looking for a peaceful escape in Busan, make sure to add this spot to your travel list.
