Rome to Florence by Train 2026: Italo vs. Trenitalia Business Class

For high-speed trains in Italy, Trenitalia Frecciarossa and

Italo are the most frequently used.

Trenitalia operates over 100 services daily on the Rome-Florence route,

and Italo runs over 30 services a day,

so you have plenty of options for departure times with both.

Instead of choosing a specific company beforehand,

it's best to simply pick the train that fits your desired schedule.

Trenitalia Onboard Review

On the day of departure, head to Rome Termini station and

check the main departure board first.

Many trains don't have Florence as their final destination, so

You might not see Firenze (Florence) on the display board immediately,

so make sure to match the train number and departure time.

Once the platform number, marked 'Binario', appears,

you can head that way!

Scan the QR code of your reserved ticket at the gate,

then simply take your assigned seat.

A staff member will come to check tickets during the journey, so it's a good idea to have a screenshot ready!

Business Class Seat Review

The Silent Business Class seat I booked was

in a carriage designed for quiet relaxation, with no conversations or loud noises.

So, if you're traveling with children,

you should opt for a regular Business Class carriage.

There are seats facing each other for three people,

along with various single and double seats.

The seat condition is absolutely fantastic!

They're plush leather and can recline almost flat,

and being in the Silent car, I could truly relax in peace.

The tables are large, perfect for laptop work,

and with free Wi-Fi and power outlets at every seat,

the 1.5-hour journey flew by!

The luggage racks are located right next to the restrooms in the aisle,

but since I was in the very last row, a three-person seat near the entrance,

there was a dedicated space on one side for luggage.

So I put one piece in the overhead compartment and another right next to my seat.

Even though it was Business Class and hardly anyone walked by,

I still felt a bit uneasy leaving my bag out of immediate reach.

Keeping it right next to you is truly the best!

The restroom was small but impressively clean.

When you travel Business Class, you also get complimentary snacks!

They provide a sandwich, bread, a drink, and water,

and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it all was.

You can get from Rome to Florence in just 1.5 hours,
