When choosing accommodation for international travel,

I usually check everything: price, location, and room condition,

but I realized I often overlooked room size.

During this Taipei trip, I stayed at both Roaders Plus Hotel​

and definitely felt the difference.

A 15㎡ room was too small for two people.​

‼️ Important Tips When Choosing Accommodation in Taipei ‼️​

1️⃣ Cleanliness

It's a country where cockroaches can be common.

Avoid areas with many food alleyways around the hotel.

I recommend avoiding accommodation in low-rise buildings.

2️⃣ Window Availability

If you want a room with a window, you must check before booking. Many rooms don't have windows.

3️⃣ Room Size

Like Japan, Taipei also has many rooms that are small.

Don't judge solely by photos,

make sure to check the actual floor area (㎡).

They share common facilities,

but differ in room size, floor level, and view.

Taipei Accommodation Location

Transportation to both locations was super convenient.

It was also easy to get to the accommodation from the airport.

Using the Taipei Main Station Red Line

(Tamsui-Xinyi Line), you can

easily reach major tourist attractions like Tamsui, Beitou, Shilin, Dongmen,

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and Taipei 101 all in one go.

If you're planning to come from Taoyuan Airport to the city center

in the early morning hours, definitely check out Bus 1819.

Loaders Plus Hotel Theme: My Actual Stay Experience

Initially, I booked the 20㎡ Standard (Superior) Double Room.

However, my request during booking was accommodated,

and I was upgraded to a 27㎡ Premium Double Room.

Later, due to a room issue, I moved once more,

getting to experience the 37㎡ Deluxe Suite.

The 37㎡ Deluxe Suite was incredibly spacious and comfortable.

Even with two suitcases fully open,

there was absolutely no inconvenience in movement.

Plus, with a dining table and a separate sofa area,

the space naturally felt divided.

Thanks to this, I truly relaxed and rested comfortably in the room.​

Let me briefly show you the 27㎡ Premium Double Room.

Although this isn't the room I actually stayed in,

I took photos before the room change.

This room was also spacious enough to comfortably open two suitcases.

And I didn't feel cramped in the room at all.

However, while there was a dining space,

it was a shame there was only one chair.

If the Deluxe Suite is a bit out of budget, the Premium Double Room, typically in the ~$73 range, is also a very spacious option.

Loaders Plus Hotel Taipei Station: My Actual Stay Experience

Here, I stayed in the Standard (Superior) Double Room, 15㎡.

Since it was a weekend, a room upgrade wasn't possible.

The 15㎡ Standard (Superior) Double Room was clean.

However, I found it too small for two people.

If you're bringing a large suitcase, you might find it a bit challenging.

Especially, after staying there on a rainy day,

I truly understood firsthand why room size matters so much.

With wet clothes and umbrellas laid out, the room became quite damp,

and it felt like the humidity even seeped into the bedding.

Although there's a table next to the bathroom,

it was far too small for two people,

making it practically impossible to eat takeout comfortably.

(We had to pull up a chair, put the food on it, and sit on the bed to eat.)

For rooms with a Taipei 101 Tower view,

it's best to check the room name before booking.

If you're looking for a Taipei 101 view room,

start by checking if there are any available rooms.

So, the big question is: What's the best room size?

Having visited various rooms myself,

I realized that room size is more important in Taipei than I initially thought.

Here's a guide based on my personal experience!

15㎡ or less -> quite small, more than you'd expect; small suitcase OK

20㎡ or more -> you'll likely have some breathing room

27㎡ -> comfortable for unpacking both large and small suitcases

37㎡ -> extremely spacious!

If you're contemplating your accommodation, while price, location, and condition are important,

I highly recommend checking the room size too.

Both locations definitely satisfied me with their location and condition.

The Standard and Premium Double Rooms are great for friends or couples,

but if you book a Deluxe Triple Room or Family Room,

it's absolutely perfect for a family trip together -!

If you consider the room size before visiting this place,

you can enjoy your stay without any regrets.
