When planning a trip to Fukuoka, most travelers typically choose to stay in either the Hakata or Tenjin areas. Having covered a hotel in Hakata previously, this time I'm bringing you a fantastic option in Tenjin. It's not right in the bustling heart of the downtown area, but just a little removed, offering a peaceful retreat while still being accessible.

I picked this hotel with the idea of exploring an unfamiliar neighborhood, and I was pleasantly surprised by how large it was. It's located right in front of Yakuin Station. During the day, I'd take the subway to get to the main downtown area, and in the evenings, I often enjoyed a leisurely walk back to the hotel.
Just a two-minute walk from the hotel, there's a charming, small Japanese-style cafe with a stellar 4.9-star rating on Google Maps. If you arrive before check-in, it's a perfect spot to grab a coffee and relax. It seems to be run by a lovely couple. I'm used to 2:00 PM check-ins from my trips to Vietnam, but here it was 3:00 PM, so I dropped off my luggage and spent some time at the cafe.
I booked a Double Room. As is typical for many Japanese hotels, the room wasn't particularly spacious. However, since I was traveling solo to Fukuoka, it wasn't a major concern.
The small workspace next to the bed was surprisingly convenient. While it might look a bit cramped in the photo,
it was just enough space for my laptop and portable monitor (though it was a tight fit!). The height was perfect, making it comfortable to use. I hadn't initially thought of using that spot, but the next day, the cleaning staff placed the two bed cushions there. It looked so inviting that I sat down for a moment. To my surprise, I sank into the cushions in a perfectly comfortable position, and I found myself incredibly focused while working there (I usually struggle to concentrate in hotel rooms). But enough about my newfound productivity hack; let's talk about the bathroom.
The bathroom, though compact, includes a bathtub, which is always a nice touch.
It has all the essentials you'd expect.
Oh, and for amenities, you can pick up whatever you need from the lobby on the first floor. They had a wider and more diverse selection than many other places I've stayed recently.

The lobby also has board games (though I didn't need them) and a parking lot (also not needed for me, but good to know). There's also a beverage vending machine, which is pretty standard. Given its size, it looks like the hotel also accommodates group bookings.
