If you're heading to Qingdao and looking for a fantastic shopping destination, MixC Mall (Wanxiangcheng) should absolutely be at the top of your list. This sprawling mall is a paradise for shoppers, and you'll easily spend hours exploring its many stores.

Among its countless offerings, Miniso and the official Sanrio store truly stand out for their incredible selection of character merchandise. If you're a fan of cute collectibles and unique gifts, prepare to be charmed – these stores alone can easily fill a significant part of your shopping itinerary!

MINISO (Qingdao MixC Mall Store)

First things first, you'll find Miniso conveniently located on the **B2 floor of MixC Mall**.

While the name Miniso might sound similar to discount stores you find elsewhere, it's a completely different experience! While they do offer some household items, the vast majority of their inventory is dedicated to adorable character merchandise. It's a treasure trove for fans!

What immediately caught my eye was the sheer abundance of Chiikawa items! From plushies of Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi to keychains, figures, and blind boxes, the variety was astounding.

They even had a special summer series featuring Chiikawa characters in swimsuits – a unique collection I hadn't seen in the US or Japan, which made browsing even more fun and added to the thrill of finding something new.

And it's not just Chiikawa! Miniso is known for its incredible collaborations, and this store didn't disappoint. You'll find merchandise from a wide array of popular franchises, including Zootopia, Stitch, Disney classics, Monchhichi, Harry Potter, and, of course, Sanrio, scattered throughout the store.

The Zootopia collection, featuring Nick and Judy plushies, figures, and blind boxes, was particularly extensive. While some of the items had a slightly 'inspired by' feel, they were still charming in their own way and made for fun browsing!

The prices were quite reasonable, making it easy to pick up a few unique souvenirs without breaking the bank. It's the perfect spot for finding quirky gifts or a little treat for yourself.

I ended up purchasing a Sanrio collaboration blind box and two large keychains. I can't recall the exact price for the blind box, but it was around ~$6.

I also discovered that discount coupons were available on Dazhong Dianping, though unfortunately, my Chiikawa purchases were excluded. It's a good idea to check the coupon terms and conditions beforehand by taking a screenshot and translating them if needed, as quite a few items might be exempt.

The official Sanrio store is located on the **B1 floor, at unit B112**.

After exploring Miniso and Wow Beauty, it was a natural next step to head up one floor to the official Sanrio store. It's perfectly situated for a comprehensive character merchandise hunt!

As an official Sanrio Gift Gate, this store offers a much more focused and extensive collection of Sanrio characters compared to Miniso's broader collaborations. Here, it's all about the beloved Sanrio universe.

You'll find an abundance of merchandise featuring iconic characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin. From plush toys to stationery, the shelves are packed with adorable items.

Beyond small keychains and plushies, there's a fantastic selection of practical accessories, too. Think pouches for your phone or cards, photo card holders, and decorative straps – perfect for adding a touch of cuteness to your everyday essentials.

Even if you're familiar with Sanrio merchandise from stores in the US or Japan, you'll likely find some exclusive designs here that you haven't seen before. It's definitely a must-visit for any Sanrio fan looking for unique additions to their collection!
