Lexiangtu Hotel Qingdao: Budget Airport Stay & Free Pickup
Arriving late in Qingdao and need a budget-friendly stay? Discover Lexiangtu Hotel, offering comfy rooms and free 24/7 airport pickup for just ~$7 a night!

Our flight into Qingdao landed late at night, so we decided to spend our first evening at a hotel close to the airport. We were looking for the best value since it was just for a quick overnight stay, and believe it or not, we found a hotel for an unbelievable ~$7 a night! The price seemed too good to be true, which made us a little wary, but it came with complimentary airport pickup, and the room conditions were surprisingly good!
Location

You can find the hotel by searching for the name below on Amap (Gaode Map) or by using the link above:
青岛·乐尚途|机场酒店(胶东国际机场店)
The hotel is located about 4-5 miles from the airport, which means a quick 10-minute drive. The best part? Guests get complimentary airport pickup, and after checkout, the hotel also offers free shuttle service back to the airport or the nearest subway station!
Airport Pickup

We communicated with the hotel staff beforehand via WeChat to arrange the pickup. After landing, we headed to Terminal 3 on the 4th floor, crossed two crosswalks, and there was our shuttle! This service is available 24/7, so no matter when your flight arrives, you're covered. The shuttle doesn't leave immediately; we waited about 15 minutes for it to fill up before departing. As for the driving, let's just say it was an authentic Chinese experience – quite an adventurous ride!

The 24-hour complimentary service means you can utilize it regardless of your arrival time.
The shuttle doesn't depart instantly; we waited about 15 minutes for it to reach full capacity before heading off. The driving, in true Chinese style, was quite... spirited!
Hotel Review

I admit, I had some reservations about staying at an airport hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel was in good condition, equipped with plenty of CCTV for security, and even had a lounge area and vending machines. During check-in, the staff used a translation app to communicate seamlessly, so there was no need for my own translation efforts.

They mentioned that shuttles to the airport or subway station run hourly, and to just let them know if we needed one.

My queen room was an absolute steal at just ~$7 a night!
I'd read some reviews mentioning a lingering cigarette smell in the lobby and rooms, but I'm happy to report I didn't experience any of that. While I wouldn't say the air quality was pristine, the complete absence of smoke made for a perfectly comfortable night's sleep.

While the room wasn't huge, there was ample space for our luggage. It came with all the essentials: a TV, a table, and basic amenities – all for that unbelievably low price.

You'll find Wi-Fi, two complimentary bottles of water, cups, and an electric kettle. A quick heads-up about the Wi-Fi: because of China's internet restrictions, popular Western sites like Google, YouTube, and many social media platforms won't work without a VPN. So, I didn't bother using it. Also, there's no refrigerator in the room, which is something to keep in mind.

You won't find bathrobes, but slippers are provided. The bed was on the firmer side – not exactly plush or super comfortable – but honestly, for the price, it was perfectly fine!

Basic disposable toiletries like toothbrushes and toothpaste are available, along with towels, shampoo, and body wash.

The bathroom felt a bit drab compared to the room. It wasn't dirty, but the water pressure was a bit weak, and it was quite dim. I skipped using a shower filter, but if you're sensitive to water quality, I'd definitely recommend bringing one!
