If you're planning a trip to Qingdao, chances are you'll be staying
near the bustling MixC Mall.
This downtown area is packed with fantastic restaurants and attractions,
but finding a good spot for an early breakfast can be surprisingly tough.
Today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to Huahua Sikga, a local food court
that's perfect for breakfast or a light meal, offering a diverse array of dishes!

Huahua Sikga is conveniently located diagonally across from MixC Mall,
on the first floor of the Housing International Hotel, a popular choice among international visitors.
In the heart of the city, many restaurants don't open their doors until later in the morning.
We stumbled upon this food court by chance while searching for an early bite.
This is a compact, single-story food court, and I'll highlight two of the stalls we tried.
Since it was quite early, not all stalls were open, and we noticed a few empty spaces,
suggesting it might not be the busiest spot, but it's perfect for a quick, authentic meal.
The first stall we visited was Huainan Beef Soup,
specializing in wonton soup with a rich beef broth base. It's located at the very end of the food court.
The dishes here are incredibly affordable, generally priced between ~$1 and ~$3,
making it a fantastic option for breakfast. We were craving something soupy,
so we ordered a wonton dish from this stall.
Next door was Yijia Mianguan (이지아미엔관),
which, as the name suggests, specializes in noodles.
Noodle dishes here are also budget-friendly, ranging from ~$2 to ~$3.
They offer three types of noodles: wonton noodles, rice noodles (Mishien), and ramen.
Many dishes are marked as spicy, but you can simply say "bu la" (不辣) to request a non-spicy version.
We opted for the rice noodles (Mishien) here, asking for it without any spice.
The food court itself is surprisingly spacious. The first floor alone offers seating for over 100 people,
and there's even an upstairs area that can accommodate dozens more.
Here’s our honest take on the two dishes we tried at the food court.
Our first dish was the Meat Sauce Rice Noodles (肉酱米线).
Priced at just ~$2, it was a steal!
We requested it non-spicy, and it arrived with a rich, savory, and slightly oily meat-based broth.
The rice noodles were perfectly soft and easy to slurp down.
While it wasn't a flavor that would divide opinions, the rich, oily broth made it feel a bit heavy.
Next up was the Wonton (馄饨), also a fantastic value at just ~$2!
This dish featured a soy sauce-colored broth with over ten succulent meat-filled wontons.
The wontons themselves were reminiscent of savory meat dumplings, familiar and appealing to our palates.
However, despite ordering it for the broth, we found it to be exceptionally salty, almost too much to enjoy.
Huahua Sikga boasts excellent accessibility, being located near MixC Mall.
With several stalls opening early, it's an ideal spot for breakfast or an early meal.
The variety of food, from spicy noodles to wontons and Mishien, makes it great for groups
who want to sample different dishes.
While the Mishien was absolutely delicious, the wonton broth proved a bit too salty for our taste,
so keep that in mind when ordering.

Huahuashijia is located on the first floor of the Housing International Hotel, diagonally opposite MixC. Since it's in the city center, not many restaurants open early, making it a good spot for breakfast.
The Meat Sauce Rice Noodles at Yijiamiankuan cost 15 CNY (approximately ~$2). You can order it without spiciness, and it features a rich, oily, meat-based broth and soft rice noodles.
The Huntun at Huainan Beef Noodle Soup costs 12 CNY (approximately ~$2). It contains over 10 wontons similar in taste to meat dumplings, but the broth is said to be very salty, potentially making it difficult for Koreans to eat.
Yes, Yijiamiankuan serves various noodle dishes, including wonton noodles, rice noodles, and ramen. If you request 'bu la' (meaning 'not spicy') when ordering, they will prepare it without the spicy flavor.
