I'll recommend accommodation locations in Qingdao, China and
share my experience staying at the Qingdao Housing International Hotel.
As a bonus tip, I'll also tell you how to book your accommodation affordably,
so make sure to check it out!

When you travel to Qingdao, you absolutely have to visit
two places: May Fourth Square and MixC Shopping Mall.
May Fourth Square is a landmark with historical significance,
and also a fantastic spot for night views where you can enjoy a spectacular laser show.
MixC Shopping Mall is home to popular restaurants like Luyu, Waipojia, and famous egg tarts,
making it a must-visit shopping mall.

Imagine how convenient your trip would be if you could walk to both of these places!
If you stay at the Qingdao Housing International Hotel,
you can reach MixC Shopping Mall and May Fourth Square within about 5 minutes on foot.

What's more, the hotel building features a Ruixing Coffee (famous for its coconut coffee) and a Seven-Eleven convenience store,
making it an incredibly convenient place for travelers.
To the right of the hotel entrance, there's also a food court in the adjacent building,
which is perfect for a simple breakfast.
So, you're probably wondering where to book the Qingdao Housing International Hotel
for the best price, right?
How to Book Hotels in Qingdao?
My spouse and I, who often travel to China,
usually compare hotel prices on platforms like these
before booking.
Qingdao Housing International (Based on August weekdays) | Agoda | Trip.com |
Queen Bed | ~$109 | ~$138 |
Check Price Here |
Agoda is usually the cheapest!
Prices can vary depending on when and for what period you book,
so I recommend comparing prices to find the lowest rate before making your reservation!
Next up, I'll share my Qingdao Housing International Hotel
stay experience.
Check-in

The hotel check-in counter isn't located on the first floor.
After entering the hotel building, you'll need to take the escalator
located immediately to your left in Building B to find it.

At the entrance, there were complimentary water and candies
available for a quick refreshment.
Check-in was quick and friendly,
so we were able to head up to our room swiftly.
For your reference, check-in/out times are
Here's what you need to know!
Check-in: After 14:00, Check-out: Before 12:00
Queen Bed
We booked a Queen Bed room
and were assigned to a room on the 16th floor.

While the Queen Bed room offers great value,
the room size is actually quite spacious. We even brought a 30-inch suitcase,
but even with it fully open in the room,
we had no problem moving around.

In the center of the room, you'll find a queen-sized bed,
a vanity, a chair, a mirror, a TV, and more.
The bed was spacious enough for two people,
and it was incredibly plush!

By the window, there's a space like an indoor terrace where you can
enjoy the view.
This area is equipped with a single sofa, a single stool, a refrigerator,
a bathrobe, hangers, an umbrella, a safe, and even an iron.
You'll see the May Fourth Square view below, but just enjoying the view here with a cup of coffee
was enough to make us happy!

In addition, with an electric kettle, disposable slippers,
a charger cable, and even a multi-tap (power strip),
we were able to stay without any inconvenience!
The multi-tap (power strip) was especially helpful, as it allowed us to charge multiple electronic devices like power banks, phones,
and portable fans
with ease, even if we brought several.
Bathroom

The bathroom was also quite spacious.
It consisted of a sink, a shower booth, and a toilet,
and most essential amenities were provided.

You'll also find toothbrushes, toothpaste, a comb, bottled water, shampoo, body wash,
and a hairdryer.
There's no conditioner provided separately, so we recommend bringing
single-use packets from home (or wherever you're coming from)!
May Fourth Square View

Finally, one of the main reasons we chose Qingdao Housing International
was precisely for the May Fourth Square view!
The view from the indoor terrace we mentioned earlier
was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

Thanks to the view that lets you take in Qingdao's landmark May Fourth Square and the magnificent sea all at once,
I found myself thinking, morning and night,
how glad I was to have booked this hotel!
As a heads-up, when booking your accommodation, I highly recommend requesting a room with a May Fourth Square view!
If this is your first time traveling to Qingdao, China,
I highly recommend you book the Qingdao Housing International Hotel without hesitation.
You'll find your trip incredibly convenient, as you can walk to places like the May Fourth Square laser show and MixC Mall.
(And for most other tourist spots,
you can just take a DiDi taxi, so there's absolutely no inconvenience!)
What's more, the view of May Fourth Square from the hotel truly let me soak in the romance of a Qingdao trip.
So, I hope you'll book through the price comparison table above
to find the cheapest option I've put together for you!
