Upon arriving at Qingdao Airport, I opted for a taxi to reach the hotel. Taxis in China are generally quite affordable, and since there were three of us traveling for a 2-night, 3-day stay, taking a taxi felt like the best way to save time. We hopped in a cab right outside the airport!

The fare from the airport to the hotel came out to 236 Chinese Yuan (CNY), which is less than ~$35 USD. Considering it was about a 1 hour and 15-minute drive for three people, that's a pretty reasonable price, wouldn't you agree?

Now, here's a crucial tip: the hotel isn't directly off the main road (it's not one of those hotels where you step out of the car directly into the lobby). Our taxi driver dropped us off on the street, and from that moment, it took us a frustrating 30 minutes to find the hotel entrance!

The building did have the hotel name on it, but we just couldn't locate the front desk. The building houses more than just the hotel, which added to the confusion. Honestly, if I could read Chinese characters, it probably would have been much easier!

Whether you arrive by taxi or subway, you'll first enter this main building.

Once inside, you'll see an escalator on your left. Head up there, turn right, and you'll find the hotel's front desk immediately. I spent 30 minutes wandering around before realizing I just needed to go up that escalator! Hopefully, this tip saves you some precious travel time.

Remember: the hotel front desk is on the second floor of the building!

Next to the front desk, there was a breakfast area and a lounge space, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

They even had a station where you could cook Korean instant noodles. It was a pleasant surprise to find this familiar comfort food!

On the same floor (the second floor), there was also a Luckin Coffee and a 7-Eleven, which was incredibly convenient for grabbing snacks or coffee anytime.

2. The Family Suite

After checking in, we were assigned a room on the 10th floor. Since there were three of us and we all preferred having our own beds, we specifically booked the 'Family Suite'. This suite comfortably accommodates three people with two single beds and one queen bed, spread across a spacious area ranging from approximately 850 to 1,227 square feet (79-114㎡). It also features a separate kitchen area, which is a huge bonus!

Let me give you a detailed tour.

We were assigned room 1002 and opted out of the breakfast service.

Stepping inside, you'll find a separate kitchen off to the side.

Further in, there were two single beds and a cozy table area.

The main bedroom features a large queen bed and a TV.

You'll also find a vanity table here (just a heads-up, there aren't any power outlets near the vanity, so plan accordingly!).

Opening the door next to the bed reveals a built-in closet, which was perfect for organizing our travel clothes. It included a safe, bathrobes, a drying rack, and even an iron.

The bathroom was quite spacious and clean, which is always a plus! It even came with two hair dryers. A great feature for those who travel with filter shower heads: the showerhead is detachable, so you can easily swap it out. My friend brought one along, and we had no trouble installing it!

Behind the bathroom door, we discovered a washing machine! Laundry detergent was also provided, which would be incredibly useful for travelers on longer trips. Since our stay wasn't long enough to warrant doing laundry, we didn't end up using it.

And the view from the hotel? It's a full-on city view! Being so close to 54 Square means you can even enjoy the nightly laser show from the comfort of your room. Just a note: Qingdao's laser show, with its buildings lighting up, is a bit different from the more choreographed 'Symphony of Lights' you might be familiar with in Hong Kong.
