Qingdao Yunshang Haitian Observation Deck: Your 2026 Visitor Guide
Discover panoramic vistas of Qingdao's stunning coastline and vibrant cityscape from the Yunshang Haitian Observation Deck. Find out how to get there and make the most of your visit.

From Qingdao's sparkling sea to its towering skyscrapers and charming residential areas,
you can see it all in 360 degrees from the Cloud Sea Sky Observation Deck!
I visited around 12 PM,
and it was amazing to see Qingdao's coastline and cityscape
all at a glance.
Location

📍 No. 48 Hong Kong West Road, Shinan District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province
Haitian Center T2 Tower
⏰ Opening Hours: 9 AM ~ 9 PM
(Last admission 8 PM)
The Cloud Sea Sky Observation Deck is located in the Haitian Center T2 Tower.
If you're taking the subway, Line 3
get off at Yanan Sanlu Station and walk,
but since taxi fares are so affordable in China,
I recommend taking a taxi.

The building is incredibly large and houses both a hotel and a shopping mall,
so the entrance might be a bit confusing at first.
Just walk straight inside and go down one flight of stairs,
and you'll see a building marked 'Sky Art Center'.

There are lockers available to store your luggage
and clean restrooms, so keep that in mind!
Ticket Reservation

Admission is 120 Yuan per adult,
and it's about ~$2 cheaper if you book in advance.
>Book Qingdao Cloud Sea Sky Observation Deck here<
After booking, show the QR code you received
to the staff, and they'll give you your ticket and several vouchers.
These vouchers can be used for photo opportunities and liquor tasting.
Inside

After they check your ticket and you go inside,
you'll first come across an area for souvenir photos.
Taking the photo itself is free, but purchasing the photo costs money,
so you can just walk past if you prefer.
(The photos are pretty bad, so I recommend not buying them.)

The dedicated elevator takes you up to the 81st floor
in just about 45 seconds,
and it arrived surprisingly quickly and smoothly.

Once you're up in the observation deck, you can walk along the panoramic windows
and admire Qingdao from every angle.
If the weather were clearer, the view would be even more vivid,
but the day I visited, it was a bit foggy,
so I couldn't see everything perfectly.

You'll also find cozy spots to sit and relax, and even a lovely cafe!
The observatory isn't huge, so you won't need an entire day.
If you're quick, you can cover it in about 40 minutes,
but if you want to soak it all in, allow about an hour.
Capture the Moment! (Photo Zones)

This is hands-down the most famous photo spot at the Yunshang Haitian Observatory.
It's a glass platform that juts out about 2 meters (6.5 feet) from the building,
giving you a breathtaking view of the city and roads right beneath your feet!
Despite my usual fear of heights, I wasn't scared in the slightest!
My husband, on the other hand, was terrified and couldn't even look down! 😂

Good news! There are actually 2-3 more identical photo zones,
so you won't have to wait long and can snap your shots at your leisure.
For the best photos, try sitting on the floor or
extending one leg out to the side.
This way, you'll capture both the stunning view and the thrilling glass floor,
making your pictures look even more incredible!

If it gets crowded, don't just wait for the center spot.
Explore the panoramic glass windows or the corners – they offer fantastic photo ops too!
There are plenty of other great photo zones to discover.

You can even enjoy a complimentary wine tasting with the voucher you received with your ticket!
It was surprisingly not too dry, pleasantly sweet, and absolutely delicious!

And to wrap up, don't forget to browse the charming souvenirs!

✔️ Travelers who want to take in Qingdao's stunning sea and vibrant city center all at once
✔️ Adventurers eager to snap photos at the exhilarating glass-floor photo zone
✔️ Anyone seeking a fantastic indoor activity in Qingdao
— this spot is highly recommended!
Just a heads-up: the views can change dramatically with the weather,
so it's best to avoid days with heavy sea fog.
I highly recommend booking your visit for a day with clear skies to truly appreciate the panorama!
