This time, our big family, including my maternal relatives,

embarked on a Qingdao adventure, and here's my review of Ethos Hotel where we stayed for 3 nights.

Having visited last year and been thoroughly impressed by its location and price,

I decided to return without a second thought.

It's only about a 10-minute walk from Taidong Night Market,

making it super convenient to grab delicious food and bring it back, and the location was perfect.

Popular spots like Jimo Road Market, Zhongshan Road, and Darunfa Mart

are all within a 20-minute Didi taxi ride.

I'll delve into detailed reviews of the room condition and breakfast,

Qingdao Ethos Hotel boasts a 24-hour front desk,

making late check-ins incredibly convenient. It's an accommodation whose location makes it easy to visit Qingdao's famous attractions.

However, since my son is in the upper elementary grades

and quite the eager walker, we opted for a spot near Taidong Night Market.

If your children are preschoolers or younger,

accommodation near MixC Mall might be a better fit.

Taidong Pedestrian Street: 640m (10-minute walk)

Taidong Subway Station: 570m (8-minute walk)

Qingdao Beer Museum: 1.2km (4-minute taxi / 17-minute walk)

May Fourth Square: 3.9km (10-minute taxi)

I guess I subconsciously gave a 'two thumbs up' then because communication was so seamless? Haha!

In China, many hotels don't have staff who speak English,

but with a translation app, navigating conversations is surprisingly easy.

The staff, in particular, actively engaged in communication,

which became a truly wonderful memory of Ethos Hotel.

We didn't order delivery food separately,

but a delivery robot was waiting patiently in the lobby!

Review of the Tatami Double Room and Deluxe Twin Room

This trip was with my maternal family,

so I personally booked two rooms.

My aunt and cousin stayed in a Tatami Double Bed Room,

while I chose the Fanxiang Deluxe Twin Room, which I had enjoyed on my previous stay!

Since we arrived quite late due to a night flight,

I only managed to snap photos of the bed area in the Tatami Room.

The toilet and bathroom are identical to those in my room,

so please check them out further below.

The Tatami Room features a double bed, and upon request,

a futon set is also provided.

My aunt was initially considering the same room as mine,

but then she expressed a wish to experience the Tatami Room.

It was definitely convenient to buy food

and sit around the table to eat together.

One of the brilliant advantages of Qingdao Ethos Hotel is that

free bottled water is continuously provided.

You'll find it in the lobby refrigerator and always stocked

right in front of the guest room elevators.

I happened to bump into the maid who was restocking the water,

and she greeted me with the biggest, brightest smile.

Honestly, I've met so many wonderful people during my travels in China, truly heartwarming interactions.

It just makes you wonder how different perceptions can sometimes be, given the kind and welcoming locals you encounter!

The Panxiang Twin Double Room I stayed in is perfect for families of up to four, as it has two double beds.

As a family of three, we had a very comfortable stay,

and I was satisfied with both the mattress and the room's cleanliness.

The toilet and bathroom are located near the entrance,

making for a convenient layout.

The toilet and shower are separate,

and there was ample storage, making it easy to put away our clothes.

There were reusable amenities and a hairdryer,

and plenty of towels were provided.

The toilet has an automatic flush system, which was very convenient.

The slippers were disposable with thick soles,

which was great for hygiene!

We chose this hotel for its great location and comfortable sleeping experience in the room,

so it's not a place known for its views.

However, the room had everything we needed: cups, a mini-fridge, a TV, a table, and more,

and my son found it easy to read his books there.

When I book international hotels, I often use Agoda and Booking.com,

among others.

Breakfast Restaurant

We had breakfast every day during our three-night stay,

and rather than expecting a super lavish hotel breakfast,

it was a solid setup for getting a good meal in during our trip.

Even my maternal relatives, who are usually quite slim and picky eaters,

said they really liked the breakfast menu.

My son loved the steamed clams and had them every day,

and my aunt mentioned how delicious the pickled side dishes were.

There was rice, porridge, hot food, and a slightly different selection of fruits each day,

which kept things interesting and satisfied both me and my family.

What truly stood out was the freshly made dumpling soup,

where we could add our preferred seasoning, making it perfectly suited to our taste.

With egg dishes, toast, cereal, coffee, and more,

I really appreciated having a simple Western-style breakfast before heading out.

I stayed at the Ethos Hotel on my last visit,

and coming back this time, I was once again impressed by its incredibly convenient location.

Being so close to Taidong Night Market meant easy access to grab my daily fix of Hey Tea and Molly Tea,

which I enjoyed daily and even brought back to the hotel!

And with a fantastic foot massage place just a stone's throw away,

it was so easy for the whole family to unwind with a relaxing massage after a long day of exploring.

If I'm lucky enough to return to Qingdao in the future,

I'll definitely be looking to stay near Taidong Night Market again.
