As soon as I stepped into the museum, I was enveloped by the rich aroma of chocolate. The strong chocolate scent truly convinced me that the exhibits were indeed made from real chocolate.

The first floor showcases sculptural artworks crafted from chocolate. From marine life like orcas and giant octopuses to incredible works that depict Qingdao's landmarks in chocolate, there's so much to see.

Given the delightful chocolate theme, we couldn't resist snapping some memorable photos right away.

It was impressive to see them meticulously controlling the chocolate's temperature here!

Oh, and check out these adorable animal displays, all crafted from chocolate – aren't they just precious?

After soaking it all in, we hopped on the escalator from the first floor and ascended to the fourth.

On the fourth floor, a fascinating exhibition awaits, delving into the rich history and intricate manufacturing process of chocolate.

A little heads-up: much of the detailed history and manufacturing process information is in Chinese, so it was a bit challenging to dive deep into all the specifics. 😉

But don't worry! The exhibits with some English translations are perfect for a quick read, capturing a few photos, and simply enjoying the atmosphere.

They even have these funhouse mirrors – one that makes you look slim and one that makes you look, well, not so slim! From what I could gather, the slim one implies 'when you eat healthy chocolate' and the other, 'when you eat unhealthy chocolate.' Healthy chocolate, you say? Is that even a thing?! 😅

I was absolutely amazed by the exhibits showcasing bags and famous architectural landmarks, all intricately crafted from chocolate. The detail was incredible!

And for those who love hands-on fun, there's an interactive exhibit! It seems the schedule changes daily, as I noticed different times were marked out or erased.

Luckily, I arrived just in time for the 1:30 PM session, so I got to participate in the experience!

The explanation was in Chinese, but I gathered it was going to be some kind of fun game we could all play together!

It was like a classic shell game, where they hid cocoa beans under cups and you had to guess the right one! If you picked correctly, you'd win some cocoa. And guess what? I was lucky enough to win and enjoy a cup! It tasted just like 'Mite' cocoa (a popular instant hot chocolate in Korea).

Up on the third floor, you'll find the exciting DIY zone! This is where you get to unleash your inner chocolatier and create your very own chocolate treats. They even offered samples of the chocolates, which were so wonderfully sweet and felt incredibly luxurious – definitely the taste of artisanal craftsmanship!

After exploring the second floor, I made my way down to the first, which houses a charming cafe serving up ice cream and beverages. It looks like you can even enter directly from outside! For any chocolate lover, this spot is an absolute must-visit – a delightful stop along Qingdao's Zhongshan Road.

My ticket included the MBTI chocolate I was eyeing, a luxurious-looking premium chocolate, and a cute keyring!

The MBTI chocolate tasted wonderfully like a classic Ghana chocolate, while the Qingdao premium chocolate was firmer and had a much deeper, richer cocoa flavor, likely thanks to its higher content.

Even if you just stop by to pick up a single chocolate, it's definitely worth the visit!
