As I was planning my car-free trip to Pohang,

the absolute priority for me was

the perfect accommodation location.

Pohang is home to many fantastic spots like Yeongildae Beach and Jukdo Market,

the incredible Space Walk, and Homigot,

and since these must-visit destinations are spread out,

for a car-free adventure,

I truly believed the hotel's location was key!

The place I ended up staying this time was

H.Avenue Hotel Pohang Yeongildae Branch.

Initially, I only booked a single night,

but I was so impressed with both the location and the room condition that

I extended my stay for another day, making it a wonderful two-night getaway.

1. Location & Parking

H.Avenue Hotel Pohang Yeongildae Branch is perfectly situated at

75-1 Haean-ro, Buk-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Being right across from Yeongildae Beach means

you're surrounded by an abundance of restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores,

and with a bus stop right at your doorstep,

planning your itinerary was incredibly

convenient and smooth.

The stunning Space Walk at Hwanho Park is approximately 2.2km away,

and the renowned Jukdo Market, famous for its incredible food, is roughly 2.4km.

On a beautiful day, you can even enjoy a pleasant walk to both,

or hop on one of the frequent buses.

Buses heading directly to key spots like Pohang Station, Homigot, and Guryongpo

pass right in front of the hotel,

making even a car-free trip surprisingly easy.

Though I was traveling without a car,

I experienced no major inconveniences at all! 😄

While parking is available on the hotel's ground floor,

it's not particularly spacious,

so during weekends and peak seasons,

it can get quite crowded.

If you're planning to visit by car, it's always a good idea to double-check parking availability before making your reservation.

2. Inside the Hotel

Ocean View Rooms

I was lucky enough to stay in one of their incredible ocean view rooms.

With the magnificent Yeongildae sea stretching out beyond my window,

even relaxing in the room felt like an integral, cherished part of the journey.

Isn't it absolutely breathtaking?

The sunrise views from my room were simply spectacular!

On the morning of my final day of the 3-day, 2-night trip in Pohang,

I got to comfortably watch the sunrise from my room,

and the view was absolutely breathtaking! 😆

It was cloudy for two whole days, but then, like magic, on the last day,

the weather cleared up beautifully with a spectacular sunrise. Haha!

Both the hallways and the room interiors were generally very clean.

Initially, I had only booked for one night,

but the location was great,

and the room condition was excellent,

so I decided to extend my stay for another day! Haha!​

I also loved that there was a styler (garment refresher) in the room.

When you travel in Pohang, you often get a lot of sea breeze,

and when you visit various great restaurants,

it's easy for your clothes to pick up odors.

Having the styler was incredibly practical!

The bathtub was also spacious,

so after walking all day as a pedestrian,

being able to relax my body in the tub

was incredibly satisfying.

The room type I chose was

a 'Royal' room,

and its features included a direct ocean view, a bathtub, and a styler (garment refresher).

Instead of a side ocean view,

Yeongildae Beach was directly in front, facing straight out,

which meant I could enjoy a magnificent sunrise in the morning.

For the same dates,

the price difference between platforms can be quite significant,

so make sure to check both Trip.com and Agoda!

I usually use Agoda a lot,

but when I compared them while writing this review,

for a Royal room on a weekday in August,

Trip.com was ~$51 cheaper than Agoda.

I regretted not comparing them from the start of my booking. ㅜㅜ

Amenities

Right in front of the 1st-floor entrance, there was a coffee machine, an ice maker,

a microwave, and a bottled water fridge available.

The weather was super hot when I traveled,

so having an ice maker was incredibly convenient!

I could grab ice whenever I needed it. Haha!

The front desk operates 24/7,

which made it super easy to store my luggage after checkout.

Rooftop Pool

The pool operating hours are

from 10 AM to 10 PM,

There was an additional charge of ~$15

per room for one hour of use.

While it's not a free pool,

it was great that the rooftop pool, located right in front of Yeongildae Beach,

only allows up to two teams per time slot,

so you can enjoy it without it getting too crowded.

If you're traveling with kids,

hoping to capture some amazing photos on a couple's trip,

or planning a summer getaway to Pohang,

I highly recommend checking out the refreshing rooftop pool!

3. Booking Tips

When choosing a room at H Avenue Hotel Pohang Yeongildae,

it's a good idea to look beyond just the cheapest price and consider the room type as well.

With a total of 41 rooms categorized into various types,

prices vary depending on whether it's a business room, ocean view, side ocean view,

or if it includes a bathtub or a 'Styler' (clothing care system).

So, make sure to confirm your desired room type

before booking!

I initially almost booked a basic room just looking at the price,

but then I realized that for a small additional charge,

I could upgrade to an ocean-front ocean view room,

so I switched my reservation to the 'Royal' room type.

In the end, I was so satisfied with both the room condition and the view

that I extended my stay for another day, making it a total of two nights.

It truly had all the key features a traveler would love: a prime location right in front of Yeongildae Beach,

Now, for the Ocean View Royal room I personally stayed in,
