Kava Bar Punta
One of the most cherished memories from my trip to Piran was savoring a leisurely cup of coffee while gazing out at the sparkling Adriatic Sea.
While Piran's waterfront boasts countless cafes, one truly stands out: Kava Bar Punta. Renowned for its exceptional Google ratings and delectable gelato, this spot is a must-visit, and I'm excited to share my experience with you.

Kava Bar Punta is perfectly situated at the very tip of the Piran peninsula, right along the coastal promenade in the Punta (cape) area.

If you walk all the way along the coast from Tartini Square, you'll find it right at the end.
In Slovenian, 'Kava' means coffee, and 'Bar,' much like in Italy, refers to a place that serves both alcoholic beverages and coffee. So, you can think of it as a coffee bar named after the 'Punta' or cape it sits on.
2. Exploring the Cafe

Among the many bars lining the beach, this one stood out with some of the highest ratings, which is why we chose to visit.
Even though it was located at the very end of the promenade, the walk was definitely worth it!

There are no indoor tables here; all seating is outdoors on the terrace, with every table offering a captivating view of the sea.

While the tables right by the water offer the prime spot, the sun was quite intense that day, so we opted for a shaded area instead 😭

Just sitting there, watching people stroll by, feeling the cool sea breeze, and gazing at the brilliant blue sky and ocean, I couldn't imagine a more perfect moment.

Beyond its fantastic coffee, KAVA BAR PUNTA is also renowned in Piran for its artisanal gelato.
Though we focused on coffee and regrettably didn't try the gelato, we saw many patrons enjoying it on the outdoor terrace and throughout the cafe.
If I visit again, trying their gelato will definitely be at the top of my list!
3. Drink Review

I ordered a Cafe Latte (~$3).
This cafe uses coffee beans from the Austrian brand Julius Meinl. I've had coffee from this brand elsewhere before and hadn't been particularly impressed.

However, the latte here was absolutely delicious! The milk foam was dense yet smooth, and the flavor of the beans was outstanding. It was truly a fantastic cup of coffee.

My husband's Espresso (~$2), after a sip, revealed a rich body without any bitterness, accompanied by a subtle acidity characteristic of the beans and a pleasant nutty finish. It was a truly captivating blend.

But what truly stole my heart was the vibrant, retro-inspired red cappuccino cup!
These are Julius Meinl coffee cups, and while I've had their coffee in other parts of Slovenia, this was the first time I'd seen this particular color. It would have made a wonderful souvenir, but alas, they weren't for sale 🥲
4. Final Thoughts

From the friendly and attentive staff to Piran's best views, delicious coffee, and a truly relaxing atmosphere, Kava Bar Punta exceeded all expectations.
If you're strolling along the Piran waterfront during your 2026 trip and crave a moment of tranquility with a perfect cup of coffee overlooking the expansive Adriatic, I wholeheartedly recommend stopping by!
I hope this post helps you plan a wonderful and memorable trip.
